excuse my question, what does IV mean:) By the way, is List good for the 3rd tank general (with inspiration) Thanks a lot!! As pointed out above it is a new skill unlocked after reaching 155 points in challenge conquests. The evaluation of List mainly depends on your current position in the game because at first stages and up to the mid-game Blitzkrieg is a useful skill to have. After that, however, its value diminishes a bit, because your tank generals are powerful enough to kill almost everything around with one shot and high level life-stealing Ribbons compensate the lack of Blitzkrieg in abundance. Therefore you prefer additional damage to it. Yet, the game is not over yet, I wouldn't exclude that times of Rumor will be back.

The 9th Retrospection is the 1st Battle of El Alamein.
Normal (German - Rommel's spearhead in the centre). Beat 24 enemies, defeat Auchinleck, and have 8 units upon victory to win with 3*.
Smash the central line, hold the position against Auchinleck's counterattack, and quickly wipe out the mobs.
Hard (British - Auchinleck's reserves behind the fortress): Take the German cities and defeat 20 units by Turn 10.
Blunt the centre's spearhead. Defeat Rommel to trigger set all enemies to a state of 2× demoralised and the retreat of their forces. Italians recover 1 turn earlier. If count of enemies defeated isn't enough, quickly hunt the mobs left.

The 10th retrospection event is the Battle of Smolensk.
Normal: Command Guderian's southern forces to take almost all cities in 12 turns or fewer, and defeat at least 25 units.
The enemy start with high morale. Attack Rokossovsky and take the southern city. Then, move to Orsha and take Vitebsk. You'll probably defeat the forces blocking the northern group in the meanwhile.
Finally, break through and defeat Timoshenko in Smolensk. Beware troops south of Smolensk. They may move towards Orsha or the southern city (a target).
Hard: Command the northern group and win by turn 12 for 3*.
Break through the blockade and seize Vitebsk. Guderian will congratulate you. You may want to position slower troops behind the mines or open gaps for enemies to step on them.
Unlike Normal, Orsha is a target while the southern city is not. Take Orsha. Support Guderian's attack towards Smolensk. You may drop a paratrooper into the southern city. It may enable the southern group to move up.
Gens: Leeb, Horton, Messe, Pavlov, Schmidhuber, Helfrich, and Wainwright

Im curious about a General Files statistic...what does "levels passed" mean... and is there any rewards for meeting minimums of stats, example, for damage it seems to be 200. (My Simo broke over 830...update. Simo now at 1334). If all requirements are completed, you get some medals. I cant say how many for higher tier generals, but my Bock gave me 20. A higher Tier will get more medals for Sure. I hope you have already upgraded the advanced nuke technology tree. Now nukes can at least deal some damage and dont just tikkle. Yes, all my techs have been fully upgraded for years ...and even for the most recent updates, thank you. It is probably why Chennault is 2nd in damage only to Simo with 1334.

The 11th is Operation Husky. Normal: Conquer the rest of Sicilly by turn 16 with at least 10 player troops. You lead the American landing troops and a few ships. Split your landing troops, 3 to the southernmost target, led by Patton or your heavy tank gen, and 3 to the nearest target, led by the other heavy tank gen. When approaching, provide a screen with your ships. Target the coastal forts and block the subs. Use Rumour to lock the Italians. The drive to Palermo is harder than the westernmost target. Gather your troops at the southern city first before attacking towards Palermo.
Hard: Conquer the east coast from Syracuse to Catania to Messina with at least 12 player troops by turn 16. You lead the British amphibious troops and some ships. Ships to provide a screen and land immediately. Not sure if holding the Americans' southernmost target provided much benefit, but I did it since I had troops in the area. After taking Syracuse, split your troops from the two cities to attack the Axis positions from both sides of the mountain. Use Rumour to lock the gen and elite troops. Taking Catania or knocking out the enemy gen leads to a state of 1× or 2× low morale among the Italians. Continue the advance. Beware Italian counterattacks. They may attack towards the Americans' southernmost city which is along the way to Syracuse. I left an armoured car to hold it. Bonus: Taking Catania prompts Kesselring to order a retreat from Messina or a retreat to regroup there, followed by Kesselring's order to you to cut the Axis off at Messina.

On a side note, I wanted to get Typhoon fragments, so, I decided to restart these missions from a cloud save, yet I got exactly the same fragments as I got first time. So, there's no point in reloading it even if results are disappointing...

We have our 12th mission, the first time with two in a week.
Operation Kutuzov
Normal: Defeat 36 enemies, including Kluge (Gustav) and Model (King Tiger), and take Oryol (south).
We start at the north in between the vanguard and follow-up troops at the friendly city. Pound the surrounding enemies, then send half your army to the NW city while the other attacks the nearby city. I sent Sokolovsky, Messe, and Schmidhuber (on 3× RA) to the NW while Leeb, Horton, Pavlov, and Wainwright moved against the city.
Send them to Bryansk and Oryol respectively. Taking Oryol leads to high morale throughout all friendly forces / friendly NPC forces. The enemy will attempt to withdraw to Bryansk where our troops will be waiting.
You can deploy a heavy tank in either or both city to hold them while your gens hunt the two commanders.
Hard: Eliminate all enemies by turn 12, while protecting Rossovsky and Sokolovsky. We command Rokossovsky's SE troops.
Take Oryol to send Model back. Move Rokossovsky with the medic to the city north of Oryol while the rest attack the central fortress.
You may spawn another unit for your next best gen. I went with two 1× RA to attack the fortresses at the south.
I moved towards Bryansk and attacked the fortress. After clearing out his escorts and spawned troops, I attacked Kluge. Then, Rokossovsky and the medic, with friendly AI troops to support, attacked Bryansk. From they, we surrounded Model.
Return to besieging the fortress. There was a nearly destroyed heavy tank in the NW city. I spammed fighters to destroy the tank for the nearly defeated friendly AI heavy tank to take the city.
Quickly destroy all remaining forts.

The 13th Retrospection: Battle of Uman.
Normal: Take all key points (everything except the NW and SE cities), defeat at least 50 enemies (watch out for this!), and do so by Turn 16.
Gens used: The 3 free gens, Horton, Leeb, and Messe.
Take the NW city. Use the active of Rundstedt's Bradenburg SF to take the city and march him out in the same turn. Spawn something, like an armoured car, light tank, or the T-44.
Split your troops with half to the western city (Pavlov on the Maus / super tank), and the rest to the nothern city (led by Messe on a 3× heavy tank). Note: The western is city is less important than defeating the weakened enemies in our ally's way
After taking the western city, you may use the airport to launch fighters to gun down weak troops. Continue to Uman, with a focus on defeating weakened enemies. Note: If you fail to take the western city, no matter. Continue hunting for enemies while moving eastward. After Uman is taken, there is dialgoue, but I'm not sure what the "retreat" looks like.
At the same time, the northern forces will move to the eastern city. Beware! Check the fulfilment of the second sub-objective. If you are still far from 50 enemies, send them to Uman to hunt remaining forts and attack the SE.
Bagramyan can be baited out of the city, if need be, by a unit one hex away. Take the city and win.
Hard: Same thing, except that you have to defeat Bagramyan on the T-44 with about 1000HP instead of finishing early.
Same gens, plus Darlan. Darlan took a 3× medium tank while Horton waited for me to build a 3× howitzer. Since I failed to take the western city, Horton was deployed in the northern city.
Taking Uman causes enemy armour to crowd around the SE city, towards the SE corner of the map. Bagramyan made his way there. Concentrate all troops to hunt him down, bypassing the last city and the ring of forts. Excess troops attacked the SE city in case of further spawns.
At the same time, remaining troops at the last city may launch a counterattack. Reply with inf. Watch out for the arty on the other side of the river. They will mass, cross the river and guard the last city.

The 14th retrospection: Operation Goodwood, an attempt to break out of Caen.
Normal: Conquer all cities by Turn 8, while protecting Dempsey (north) and Monty (south). We take the centre group with the follow-up forces in Caen.
Gens used: The 3 free gens, Horton, Leeb, Messe, and Pavlov. Split the forces in half and attack the NE and SW cities. Quickly storm the central city, destroying or bypassing the enemies in the way.
Kluge mobilises by Turn 2, or when the garrison of both targets fall.
Hard: Conquer all cities by Turn 9 while eliminating at least 28 enemies. We command Monty's southern group.
Gens: Same gens minus Schmidhuber and Helfrich.
Go anti-clockwise. You'll hit the first bonus objective after destroying all the enemies in the way. Spawn armoured cars in thw SW city after powerful enemies like Kluge have been neutralised by Rumour and eliminated. Use them to hold it or confront weaker troops.
If the enemies north of the central city cannot be defeated in time, bypass them to take the NE city.

Retrospection 15: Kokoda Track Campaign
Normal: As Japan, take all cities and eliminate reinforced Blamey by Turn 10.
Gens used: Pavlov on tank (with inf ribbons), Konev (with arty ribbons), Horton, and Leeb.
Head straight into the minefield. Troops to advance together while the mechanized inf clears important mined tiles. Take the central city.
Then, spawn a light inf and attack towards the NW city for the airport. If the road is clear, use the inf to support the push.
Blamey will launch a counterattack (or flee if you attacked him first). Surround and defeat him.
Take the last city. Use fighters and/or paratroopers as needed.
Hard: As Australia, defend all three cities for 15 turns and eliminate reinforced Horii and Terauchi, while defending Blamey. You also lack the fortress.
Gens used: Pavlov on tank, Messe and Horton on Hawkeye Forces, Wainwright on the MI, and Leeb and two free gens on the arty.
Gather your troops in the central city and hold them there. Anchor the tiles N and NE of the city with the tank and some inf. Leave an arty nearby to support. Horton held the city. The rest will move to eliminate the bulk to the region southeast of the city. Here, Messe, Leeb, and Blamey shined.
Horii attacked the city and was frozen by Rumour. Keep him stunned while clearing out the mobs. Do NOT advance far out.
While clearing the initial mass, some units while try to slip past towards Kokoda. Send one of the spare arty to pursue and move the troops backwards into a line to block them. At the same time, summon one light inf and it should hold. Use fighters if a Hawkeye Force is attacking Kokoda.
After clearing the blob, Terauchi will advance, but he will ne shielded by more mobs. You can wait for him to come. I chose to attack, leaving a summoned light inf to hold the city while the rest aimed to surround, freeze with Rumour, and destroy his unit.
Then, return to defending. The Japanese will get cheat units, but they'll come in piecemeal. Can't build bunkers to ward them off, though. If your troops are still plentiful and healthy, you may consider attacking the city.

Number 16: Operation Cobra
Commanding the northern American army group, eliminate all enemies by Turn 12 (Normal) or Turn 10 (Hard) for a perfect clear.
Gens used: Pavlov on Pershing, and Messe on the other tank, with the wrong gens on the inf units - Leeb on mechanized inf, Horton on Hawkeye Forces, and Wainwright on MI - and Schmidhuber on a 3× tank while Helfrich took a 3× howitzers.
Detatch a tank and inf to take the NW city and the rest to hit the centre. Taking the city sinks the central frontline group into being in 2× low morale.
Following this, Bradley and Helfrich attacked the city near Kluge. He approached and was confused after being flanked, somehow. The remainder attacked towards and the fortress itself. The NW group joined after finishing the enemies off.
The friendly AI took care of the SE city. Maybe losing all cities led to a state 2× low morale for Kluge. Destroying the fortress might have caused the remaining enemies to be 1× demoralised.
Gens used (Hard): Pavlov and Messe on the Pershings, Schmidhuber on the super tank, Darlan on the other tank, Horton on the Hawkeye Forces, and Wainwright on the medic. Plus, Leeb and Helfrich on 3× howitzer. Helfrich was a mistake. He came too late to do anything, and could've been better used as 7-8 fighters.
Same strategy. Darlan and Pavlov moved to the NW and the rest to the centre. I diverted Messe to help my allies with the SE city. Apparently, its fall prompts Kluge to retreat, probably not noticed earlier because he was confused.
Finished in time because Darlan attacked the SW city to open it, followed by Horton to weaken the garrison and Messe to destroy it. Messe's crowd tactics helped, and a paratrooper took it. At the same time, Helrich attacked the central land fort, followed by Schmidhuber and Messe moved to finish it. Leeb and the rest attacked the fortress, and a fighter finished it.

Retrospection 17: Operation Bluecoat
Normal: Take the western and southern cities, and have at least 7 units left, while beating Bittrich on a King Tiger (whose name was short of a 't' in the game).
Gens used: Leeb (Priest), Horton (super arty), Pavlov (heavy tank), Messe (medium tank), Schmidhuber (medium tank), Wainwright (mechanized inf), and Darlan (spawned 3× howitzer).
We start at the NW. Take the western city and beware the two groups of enemy troops, who will launch a counterattack. Bittrich will also join these troops.
Hold and prepare to use the Priest to blast the mobs on the west. Messe and some tanks to pin and demoralise Bittrich on the east.
Finish them off and march into the southern city. Note: The troops along the line will move when approached.
Hard: Defend the eastern and southern cities for 10 turns, defeat at least 28 enemies, and have at least 7 units by turn 10.
Gens used: Pavlov (King Tiger), Messe (heavy tank), Schmidhuber (medium tank), Horton (Bradenburg), Wainwright (Bradenburg), and Helfrich (medic).
Remember Bittrich's starting position when playing as the Allies? We take his place. Split our army up, with one 2-hex tank on each flank, one Bradenburger on each flank and the medic to the western flank. I deployed Pavlov to the open centre first, but his sector is the western flank, while Messe took the northern flank.
When the main attack on the western city eased, Pavlov moved to block Monty's attack. After turning the tide there, they stormed Monty's city.
The inf gathered at the southern city to hold it. Paratroopers and medic heals helped to block follow-up attacks.
Not tested: Defeating Dempsey and Monty might prompt the Allies to stop attacking and/or retreat. However, Dempsey doesn't budge.

The 18th Retrospection: The Belgorod-Kharkov Offensive Operation
Normal: Take the central, southern, and SW cities by Turn 9, while defeating at least 30 enemies.
Gens used: Horton and Leeb on the arty, Messe, Schmidhuber, and Pavlov on the heavy tanks, Wainwright on the mechanized inf, while Darlan and Helfrich took the motorised inf.
We start with Konev's troops. I detached Schmidhuber, Darlan, and Leeb to march to the NW city, while the rest move against Belgorod and its outskirts. Taking Belgorod causes all Soviet troops to have high morale.
Then, I attacked the SW city. Beware! Manstein who launched a counterattack in the German centre shifted towards the SW city after its fall. I stuck Messe in the city to gamble on Rumour being applied during his counterattacks. Shift the NW detachment back to attack Manstein, and defend Belgorod from the troops along the barrier (they sill attack to retake Belgorod). They took the western city along the way.
Defeating Manstein might cause the Germans to flee, but I won right after.
Hard: Take all cities except Sumy (NW city) by Turn 9, with at least 30 enemies defeated.
Gens used: Same guys, but Darlan was used on a 3× howitzer fron Belgorod.
Since I struggled to breakthrough fast, I group everyone together and moved towards the western city. The aim is to attack Manstein and help our allies take the W and SW cities. Darlan held Belgorod with spammed armoured cars.
Defeating Manstein caused the Kharkiv troops to flee westard. Since the enemies around Belgorod are weak enough, Darlan moved to Kharkiv. Pavlov bypassed the western city to attack the SW city before the others caught up. Then, he moved against Kharkiv while the rest caught up.

Number 19: Guadalcanal Campaign Normal: Take and hold both airport cities (the northern island and northern city of the main island). Win with at least 9 troops and 50 defeated enemies. Gens used: Horton on destroyer, Helfrich on sub, and Darlan on cruiser, Leeb on howitzer, while inf are dispersed among Messe, Pavlov (Hawkeye), Schmidhuber (Medic), and Wainwright. Wainwright and Schmidhuber attacked the northern island in case it needed defending. They were assisted against the coastal fort by Horton. This was unncessary. The rest attacked the southern island. If strong, split up your troops to take the N and NE cities. If not, move in groups. Note: Taking the N city causes land troops to move against it. The enemy will spam inf. The NE troops attacked the E city to defeat more enemies. Pavlov moved alone, supported by spammed inf from the N city, against the S city. Then, once Schmidhuber and Wainwright returned, they attacked with Pavlov towards the W city. Priority targets are subs and troop carriers. I kept my ships in a holding position between the small island just above the main one. Horton joined once there are no more ships sailing towards the northern island.
Hard: Hold all remaining cities on the main island, recapture and hold the airport city on the main island, and eliminate at least 30 enemies. Gens used: Darlan on the Yukikaze and Helfrich on the other ship, Pavlov on the commandos, Messe on the southern assault inf, while Schmidhuber and Wainwright took the other two. Attack the incoming troops carriers and retake the airport. W city garrison (Wainwright) play defensively, holding out in the city or waiting nearby. Once the two waves of reinforcements have been wiped out, the main landing waves come from the NE fortress which you cannot destroy in time anyways. At the same time, the S city will always be pressured by the N city. When land / amphibious attackers targeting the NE city have been wiped out around turn 5 / 6, send the assault inf back to the central area. It's time to retake the N city and silence the spam. Yamamoto moved to use his AOE bombing to attack the troops about to land on Turn 5 at the NE end and the new horde about the fortress on Turn 9. He is the MVP. Use him to bomb one of the initial howitzers. Now, assuming that all cities on the main island are yours, you have to clear out the remaining ground troops and use the main force to attack any subsequent landing troops. Yamamoto can help with both tasks. Use light inf sparingly to hold cities. You cannot spam them to divert the firepower of naval cannons because you don't earn enough. Mistake at sea: I believe that it was a mistake to deploy Helfrich instead of Horton. I thought I could deploy Horton using the port, but I lack money, opportunity, and firepower to attack the strengthened enemy ships. Additionally, I shouldn't have sent them to circle the main island from the west. The bulk of the soft troops were in the east. At least Yamamoto covered for them on this front.

Retrospection 20: Operation Totalize
Normal: Take all cities and defeat at least 20 enemies by Turn 8.
Gens used: Messe and Pavlov on starting tanks, Schmidhuber on spawned 3× heavy tank, Horton and Leeb on starting RA, Darlan on spawned 3× Hoiwtzer, Helfrich on eastern mechanized inf, and Wainwright on Hawkeye.
We start with all Canadian troops surrounding two British 3× heavy tanks. Messe, Leeb, and Helfrich attacked the NE city while Pavlov, Horton, and Wainwright attacked the W city. Schmidhuber probably attacked towards the W city while Darlan spawned in the NE city. Taking the NE city causes morale to rise. Perhaps it's also true for the W city.
Rush the cities. Once the provinces about the fortress is taken, use the money to spam bunkers to encircle them.
Use paratroopers to capture, if needed. Spawn armoured cars in the W or SW city against enemy tanks.
Hard: Take all cities and eliminate at least 20 enemies, while protecting Simmonds who is not under our command.
WIP. Still looking for a way to defend Simmonds when a base Wittman spawns on Turn 4.
