Arya Stark , In one of my runs that got glitch-reset, I got Arnold early and kept him as an infantry general because of the Spy skill. This was at a time when I'd already suffered one uncommanded deletion and just wanted to play around with whatever generals took my fancy. I've also bought some other generals who were substandard by all other considerations because they had specific skills; e.g. Kollowrat, who has no other skills except Geography, but is the cheapest of all the non-Princess generals with that skill. (His other problem is that unlike Berthier, his stars are garbage and he requires a lot of input to make useful. Not recommended unless you have a solid medals grind, and preferably one that's run by macro. By the time you make anything out of him, Berthier is probably both cheaper and better.) Kollowrat is garbage, even an untrained Berthier is 10x better It was strictly an experimental phase. |

Are you playing on a mod with free emblems and medals? I really think the only way to play is Princesses and item switching. Grinding for medals and rank seems way more tedious than either of those options. Even training seems like a waste. If you play a multi- slot game, maybe Arnold is worth it as you can use him to trade in many scenarios and buy items cheaper. Even then I'm not sure if he really saves enough medals to make it worth the initial purchase. What training? The training stars or regrouping? Or are you talking about rank/nobility grind? In addition to the 2 you mentioned, Arnold also helps a lot in princess rushing, since HRE doesn't start off with a good trader (even that godly video guide has Arnold deployed). He can also free up Washington in 1775 US. I mean using trainers to upgrade your generals, ie get them up to 5 stars. I think just getting items is a better use of your medals. |
