That's a very masochistic experiment I wonder how far you get before you have to rely on (automated) conquest grinding. What's your stance on war drums in this run? I can't deny there is an element of pain in this attempt I guess I don't need any war Drums any time soon, but my approach always was "use it or lose it". I definitely don't think that spending dozens on a single mission is a key to all doors, but when it is needed to support my best offensive general or a gatekeeper defending the vital point - why not... I only briefly touched Nightmare campaigns on my previous run and my conclusion is that a preparation for this challenge is more important than war Drums. My Timur (almost always my choice of a pre-deployed general) with lvl 5 single line formation still could destroy any opponent around when attacking as well as when counterattacking. That means it is necessary to raise the rest up to his standards. And that means that troops hired in castles should be of the highest possible quality and your economy good enough to hire them. Maybe I am wrong and these thoughts are pie in the sky, but I believe it is possible to advance through Nightmare campaigns with a prior preparation and and a use of war Drums on certain occasions. As someone said it is a rule of 6 P: "Prior proper planning prevents poor performance"

I recomend Belisarius and Narsus Bond for the defense infantry wall.

I recomend Belisarius and Narsus Bond for the defense infantry wall. Wow, these bond upgrades are really something. I suspected they are useful but that exceeds my expectations. I was planning to upgrade Justinian/Theodora and Constantine/Sophia/Giovanni first, but this one is really cool.

Thanks to Murad (supported by Theodora) it is possible to climb up the Territory ladder almost immidietly after starting the game. So, getting him early is probably the best decision...

Nice Bond, but i completed the conquests, so i dont need it. Wow, how can you get that much Letters to upgrade the Bond? And how many Letters do we need to reach level 10 Bond? Maybe I should buy Letters from shops using medals, of course save fisrt and then testing to get infos about how many Letters needed and what those Bonds looks like when upgraded.

Day 4 And another "endgame" general. Cnut's special unit is a bit fragile, so one unit of spearmen is needed to strengthen the center and to underline his survivability. Scottish long pikemen, Vikings and Varangians is a good starter legion, imo.

I see that more Normans already have new unique portraits. So, that is the future of the game. New Norman chapters are already in development, I think. And since there were plenty of dynasties in Europe beside Norman ones, I think that EW7 is far from over

Day 5 And since we can get one book of Caesar's commentaries without spending eagle coins I am proud to introduce one of the best f2p support generals Matilda of Boulogne. She is a great addition to any team who helps a lot to your generals with unique active skills (Murad and later Subutai, Hunyadi etc.). There are other f2p generals with Calmness, but only Matilda can have it on 2 turns cooldown.

Day 6 And I am proud to have one of the key figures of any f2p team. Timur is without any doubt one of the best f2p generals in the game (if not the best) and is extremely good at counterattack as well as attack. With the introduction of the Single Line Formation he should be even more powerful than before. He will be my "invited guest" general almost in every campaign and conquest.
