Ok, this sounds very "beginner" for a mid-late gamer like me. But I keep seeing people using cheap generals like Vatutin, Badoglio, or Crerar and they survive for half of the game like this. And me, sitting here with Guderian and Patton but yet thay die in the first 20 turns of 1939 conquest even when playing as Axis.

For me, skills and be cautious(’・ω・‘) and if you want more, train yourself to aim on keeping all Generals alive, including those who has given you at the beginning, in early year conquest. I suggest countries with more Generals say Japan/Germany/Russia/ROC X)

Haha, but if you want Generals to be alive, they are should be used wisely and carefully, not keep attacking without thinking. I will say I am the one who always aims on keeping all generals alive on every conquest

They might need air and artillery support. I'm not very sure because Badoglio is the only general I use during WW2 conquest.

I'm so good at conserving that all my 1960 generals, including Admiral Isakov (he's the most likely to get nuked, in my experience) survived into the endgame.

Then simply... allow them to die but only if they serves a purpose to die for. There's aome good objectives that I shouldn't held my generals back to save them. I would do my conquests faster if I was more willing to sacrifice them. I've improved somewhat.

Erwin Johannes Eugen RommelMy suggestion for something like Germany or Russia as an example: in the beginning the map will be filled with a fierce clash of generals, and that's where the casualties tends to run highest. It's best to use half of your nation's generals to be selective and take down the more important targets that comes straight at you. Focus them down with your formation of troops ofc. Btw also... I often throw away non-general tanks in front of my long-range bombardment generals (artillery or supertank). And if you are running low on gold but high in steel, you could use coastal artilleries as meatshields. The goal is to inflict lethal damage on the enemy generals while you suffer far less. Be on the lookout for spawning generals coming from infamous locations like Honolulu, Berlin, Vienna, Leniningrad. You know they're coming, so might as well be ready for them to come at you. Once things cool down with the generals spawning and almost every one is dead, feel free to deploy all of your remaining generals and rule the battlefield from this point.
