I like the bordgame itself just like axis and allies. Is there no app variant of it already? Great idea. TW aint my thing and i am not sure whether playing it on this forum in the end works out for me but i will give it a try by following it on the side and maybe stand in by absence and maybe joining the 2nd 1 AFAIK, Droidippy an Android app for playing Standard map only. I don't know if the Apple Store offers an app for Diplomacy. And as for the board game Axis & Allies... TWs are more similar to A & A and vice versa more so than Diplomacy. Diplomacy is more similar to chess/poker fusion. Appreciate the offer for a substitute player, a Diplomacy game would run more smoothly with a sub available. Thank you!

I'm posting a link to the game rulebook. I found one that matches exactly the one I left back home in my parents' house. www.wizards.com/avalonhill/rules/diplomacy.pdfPlease note: it may seems to be so long and overwhelming... After playing this game a couple of times, I honestly can say that it could have easily be cut short into like 4 pages instead of 24 pages. I think they wanted to waste paper and ink to make it all pretty and impressive. -_- At least the pictures might offer some help in addition to the explanations. Anyway on page #23, You will find the heading "22 Rules to Help You Resolve Orders". Okay... 22 rules may seems to be a LOT, it's deceiving ... At least I think so ... the majority of the orders will only require the first column from rule 1 to rule 12, and the second column from rule 13 to rule 22 comes in like only 20% to 10% of all orders or even less, pretty rare to have a situation to be worried about those rare rules. Just so you know: A player should only concern himself with mainly how to play the game, while the complicated parts of order resolve step by step will be handled completely by the GM himself. I plan to host the first few games myself since I have first played Diplomacy 18 years ago when I was a kiddo. It's totally second nature to me for a long time, and I'm sure for some players, the game will become second nature to them after maybe 2 to 5 games (I don't know, every person is different, you know?). For behavior while playing the game, it's pretty simple, but I found a decent simple list to link to: www.ultradiplomacy.com/tips.php

I usualy play on the website as droidippy has a lot of Zombies and dropping players, usually ending with me and some other guy trying to figure out if we should drop as well...

Many thanks in return for the article link! Oh Quintus Fabius! It has been far too long since I had came back to reading the zine. That particular article is now one of my favorites, an instant favorite!
Alrighty... so The Light Bringer and then you, Lord Salisbury ... I have two players thus far. I will wait until tomorrow to see how many people we will have for a trial run. Sign up, folks, sign up here! I would like to host a VERY short diplomacy game. It will consist only 2 years of gameplay (basically 4 phases, because you have spring and fall to move around). If you are worried about losing or winning, just don't. Just think of it as a pre-season warmup. Also please if you don't mind, write down whether if you are experienced in playing Diplomacy or not. I'm considering putting aside a separate game for newer players, not just to make it fair but to make it fun as well. PreDip01The Light Bringer, Quintus Fabius,

That's a bit short... oh well. What's your favourite nation? I do prefer the UK myself... But Italy is also fun. Never played France too much though (bad luck at drawing).

Bro, France is a wonderful country to play. I've had 2-way draws and one of my 2 solo wins as France. England+France is almost as good as a Juggernaut
