In later conquest eras always create a unit and wait a turn before you put a general on it. If you put the general there on the same turn, he will most likely be nuked

My experience is if you want to use a 1 star country , use a country that is away from the action. I always use Brasil and i won in 1943. If you are Brasil first attack Bogota for extra resources, then send one 'stealer' to steal resources in USA and Canada. Send your troops to conquer africa but try to get deck-carrier harbours. these are very helpful. the biggest battle i faced was when i sent troops from northern africa around spain by sea to britain to get the harbours and to fight through spain to paris. If you're done here its fairly easy to win the other axis forces.

In my 1939 play through i am doing Spain and at first it seemed like i would get totally owned by the Russians, they had captured Berlin and were swiftly moving across Europe, and what i would say is a very lucky chance, i was taking over the England land at the time, and when i got that taken over i moved my troops to the General deficient Russians, and it seemed like the AI for the Russians wasn't even playing the game after they defeated the Germans, at the same time the U.S. was attacking Japan with all their troops and wasn't worrying with me so that allowed a quicker European conquest, the hardest part after dealing with Russia is some of India and the allied countries around it, because when i was moving across Europe, those 1-stared countries were building Land Forts and Bunkers on their west border, but by that time the U.S had taken over Japan and its China territory, and were spread across that area, also as i was messing with the 1-stared countries, i was spamming Heavy Tanks from Moscow and bringing them down to the Eastern front, also at that time i was invading the U.S and Canada, i started by taking over New York with a lot of Battleships and when i destroyed the city and the troop there, i moved in a troop i had stationed nearby to capture the city once it was down, after that i started Strategically Bombing Washington even though the had Anti-Air guns there, it cost a lot of gold and oil, so you should really capture Europe and Russia first or you can never capture the American homeland, once Washington was down i Paratrooped in and captured it, this is when i started doing what i was doing in Asia, spawning Heavy Tanks over and over again, i moved onto Denver and very painstakingly captured it after loss of many Heavy Tanks, to a regular Tank, when i was doing this i was dragging all my Battleships and a couple Carriers through the Panama Canal to attack San Fransico, and Los Angles, when i was doing this i was getting closer and closer to those cities with my Heavies, i avoided Canada at that time because i knew that America was more of a threat than Canada at that time. In the Asian Continent I was slowly pushing my way towards New Dehli, and the ROC's last big city, the mongolian country, which i dont know the actual name for, had built up a little Maginot Line which i destroyed a Bunker with a Heavy Tank and Captured the City a little bit beyond that, these countries ruffly were the same size the started with, when i took over the English homeland, all it really did was cripple their Asian attacking power, along with france, those two countries were only crippled with their area's in Asia left, after Germany was defeated it was tasked to me and italy, which were really the only ones down there to capture Northern Africa, which i mostly did, because Russia basically crippled Italy to just a couple Destroyers and the Naples area left. What I just described is basically where i am at this time.

I reccomend farming 1950 & 1960 conquests with countries such as Iran or Saudi-Arabia
