EW4 When in conquest, buy a general or 2 at the taverns, dispite what others say they can make differance, and i usually gain 100+ medals per conquest anyway. Spending a few medals aint no big thing. In fun games, I completely agree; when grinding for items or trainers, every medal counts and the better tavern generals don't come till the turns for elite princess rushing have expired (they can be very helpful for getting Sophia, though). I would put it as "In long conquest games, the right tavern general is not very expensive and can significantly enhance your capability."

I do play for fun on conquests, but also one eye one gaining medals not wasting them friviuosly on any pub general. You may be right in regards in your perspective that its a waste to use them, and i agree,I'm just not up to your skills yet. No you didn't put it that way,but you wanted to lol. Also at this time i don't IAP,i have but uninstalled so lost any progress, but now starting over,YET ONCE AGAIN! This time i'll do it right,,,i think

Another tip i learned"the hard way". If you can't take a city, factory, stable ect. on the current turn. Beat it down but don't elimenate it unless you can take the position. Wait until next turn,or else you may have to beat down an0ther fresh unit.

Also at this time i don't IAP,i have but uninstalled so lost any progress, but now starting over,YET ONCE AGAIN! This time i'll do it right,,,i think I think we're actually in complete agreement. If you're grinding for expensive items or powerful generals, you need every medal you can get; it isn't the time to be using lots of tavern generals. (Right now that's me.) If you're rushing for elite princesses (Isabella to some extent but particularly Lan, Victoria), the better tavern generals won't even be available until you've finished. (Right now that's also me.) If you're going for your first couple of princesses, you've got at least fifty or sixty turns to finish the game (I think I got Sophia at turn 69); provided the tavern you capture isn't too far from the battle and the generals are good, having one or more of them is MASSIVELY useful. If you've got all the items you want or need right now, and you either have all the princesses or you're taking a break from rushing, yeah; go for broke. But the clue then lies in what you said - not buying them frivolously. (Unless you want them to try out for fun, but then we have to remember that neither starting generals nor tavern generals can take on items, except the ones they're issued by the AI.) My Kindle Fire HDX, on which I mostly play, has the old 99 turn limit, so it's sometimes difficult for a tavern general to make all his medals back by the end of the game, and that's why I haven't used them much. But on my Android platform I've got 999 turns to play with, and that's a different matter; a good tavern general or two working together with other units can become an effective medal grinder, and you can get your investment back.

Debatable or semi-controversial or tagential tips or those that require long explanations have very little chance of being added to the ticker because there is no room there to add comments to a tip that might not be agreed on or even understood with just a quick glance.
Remember these tips only take a few seconds to scroll across the screen on the news ticker before disappearing for a while.(PC version of EFC)
Feel free to post any tips you like but this is just a reminder in case you actually want them to be used on the news ticker.

EW4: Chevron and star on units, earned in battle, give extra resistance to damage. All else being equal, attack strong enemy units with them first.

Have you always wanting to capture an ally country city but without causing that ally country to go neutral? Here's a tip, after capturing one you receive a warning, second capture results in turning that ally country neutral, to avoid this create a save file before doing the second capture. Now, try doing the second capture which of course results in turning that ally country go neutral. Therefore, quit the game and restart from a save file before the second capture. Do the second capture again and this time there's chance of not turning ally country neutral, if it does not happen, do it again. Repeat this step again for other allied country cities. EW4 Generalised: Any undesired AI move or decision can change randomly just by reloading a few times. (A key in rushing HRE 1798 for Lan & Victoria: the annoying Sevilla artillery for example) So always save before AI turn.

I think that morale is very important to use as a beginner. It can be a game changer. Consider flanking and surrounding if you can.

This is particularly effective on generals Yeah, another big tip is in conquests don't waste time with enemy units unless you're defending and/or there's an annoying general. Just take cities instead. In ew5 conquest is a bit different though
