I am trying it with Russia and finally I made some progress, now I have the whole of Europe (expect Dublin and Scottish city). Should I just move all my west-Europe troops out to america, or is there a good way to proceed to america and also Asia? Before I blow my first good attempt up. Thank you. Why I ask: previous time I did the reverse with America and it meant doom. If you're just aiming for a completion (as opposed to speed-runs), I recommend you wait until most alien ships are dead (around turn 70 to 90, give or take) before you make a trans-Atlantic crossing. Or at least build plenty of battleships to behave like a whole row of meatshields. Your units can hide behind them.

If all your gens are dead, proceed with missiles/nukes, that's cheaper, and try to capture unprotected cities with PMI (aliens quite often leave cities unprotected).

So all I have to do is to face the Annihilation Wave then things should theoretically be smooth sailing until the next major wave comes?

In most cases there are some major points you need to defend (keep gens there) while other cities are attacked very rarely and those enemies can be killed with just missiles .

I'm starting to get driven back from ChongKing. I'm trying to press forward with FA from Ulan Batoor into the less defended Peking, I have a mini sailent in Novosibirsk. I've stopped my stream of RA from Moscow 5 turns ago. And I have just taken New Delhi and the Middle-East. Europe is mine but Khabarovsk and The rest of China are under heavy guard. I'm making a trans-Atlantic crossing from UK while I have a stronghold in Spain and Portugal. In Africa, all of East Africa except for Addis Ababba are mine. What should I do?

If so many cities are yours, than what's the problem, you have good income, you have some nukes factories, just build nukes all the time and proceed further with nukes and PMI (if you have any gen left, he's welcome too). Watch the enemy turn, count, how much aliens are spawned and than count, how many you kill till next turn, when new aliens are spawned. If you killed more, than just proceed this way.

Can you Autoplay aliens btw? I am at the more advanced stage where you actually won already but just keep moving units etc, got Europe,Africa, east USA, and Asia all the way too Chongking and Mongolian capital etc. So it is very boring :-(

Anyone noted down a couple of main Alien spawn points? I found: (a) Havana to be quite active once I reached/conquered Spain-Portugal region, (b) A west Canadian city to be active once I took UK, (c) UK cities start to get active once I start lining troops along Mainland Europe and along Norway, (d) ChongKing to stop me in Central Asia, (e) Manila, Taipei, Port Moresby, WuHan, New York and Medina to start spawning, as I closed in on them (f) West African cities start to activate as I sent a random Motorised Infantry into the mostly undefended region.

It seems to depends on how short on gold are the aliens. I have noticed that after a certain point in the conquest, the aliens are unable to afford spawns. I could be wrong, but I suspect that each spawn costs the alien 1 thousands of gold to 2 thousands or maybe 900ish.

Possibly just like gens, if the city is owned at certain turn, it spawns some alien. At least after some 30-40 turns (just early turns take too much time and I don't watch them so not sure what happens there) aliens spawn some units in various cities each 5-6 turns. And always some 5-6 turns pause, than some units in one turn.

I didn't experiment with leaving only a few cities to the aliens and wait it out until they don't spawn a single alien within 10-15 turns of the previous one, I should do that.

Not sure how many turns and if this period changes over time, but as I remember when attacking Bogota as last city it spawned aliens. Possibly that depends on both: quantity of owned cities and turn number.
