If we are reviving this....
I once had six kids in my grade 8 class not know the capital of Canada.
For the record, I LIVE IN CANADA.
That scared the hell out of me, ngl

Here's my not facepalm moment but rather a heart breaking one ;(
Once during our national mathematics day, our school held a quiz. During that time, there was a question as follows -
The sum and the product of three consecutive numbers are equal. Find those numbers.
I gave the answer as 6. But the host asked to say those three numbers. I said them - 1,2,3. But they asked me to repeat it in Mike. But just then, the other host said time up. I thought it might not matter. That question carried 2 marks.
Eventually, our team came second, by 1.5 marks. If I had answered that question, then my group would have won ;(
My heart still aches thinking about it.
Moreover, the girl who led that 1st place group didn't even answer a single question. In my group, I answered majority of the question. Ahh so Ironic and heart breaking ;(

As an American I don't know all the American states lol. We're honestly the weirdest country when it comes to that stuff. Other countries have provinces, but they all feel apart of that country. Here most people identify by state first, country second.

In India, there are some states like that, some non-hindi speaking states.

No, not really. I identify to the US government as a whole than my states government.
