Upstate or downstate? There's a difference in local familiarity. Princeton- still a decent degree of association. Oh I would generally consider that area somewhat closer to Philadelphia... but still you're right... even though I grew up in Ohio, I'm aware that NYC was founded on an island and there's a handful of islands surrounding Manhattan island as well (let's not forget about the famous Long Island or Staten Island...).

I'm aware of that and I live miles away on another (albeit small) continent!

Some people in my English class were certain that Jerusalem was in Africa. They gave in when I showed them a map.
All they said were: "Whatever, they're both the same place. / Meh, they both have crazy people."
I wasn't too happy.

Desophaeus, The facepalm comes when you realize that this was in an AP (advanced placement) class, discussing the effects of Shakespeare's influence in modern literature. But that gold star: does it stay on the forehead or slowly falls off each time you try?

(let's hope he does bathes regularly ). Besides my post was still implying that a facepalm is deserved in that kid's presence, not that I was disagreeing about the facepalm for clarity's sake.

Yeah, I wasn't paying attention to much there (facepalm for me lol)

Because from the sound of it, that kid may deserve about 20 L's.
