Why is the map split? The Eastern districts (not Chongming) appear to be on land, rather than the island it appears as. Makes it harder to choose. As a major member of expedition I certainly claim my piece. Quintus Fabius , Figured it out, sorry. So thats the downtown. But what would be best for a westerner? Guess I should claim one of the downtown places at least. Small nations, econ nations and those uninterested in naval affairs might want to claim downtown; everywhere outside of it is mostly farmland, so the only reason to claim those areas is for portbuilding.

Japan is going to war with Korea now for the Korean empire dismisses our threats and declared war on us as a result of our threats. 2 warships is not enough, I will deploy 1000 troops (all trained to banzai as last resort) into Korea and 150 artillery cannons.

1000 troops will be squashed by the Koreans methinks. That's my plan to test their strength. But surely it's fairly obvious that they are a lot stronger than 1000. I'm just pointing it out, you can do that if you want it just seems like a bad idea to me.

But surely it's fairly obvious that they are a lot stronger than 1000. I'm just pointing it out, you can do that if you want it just seems like a bad idea to me. I have another 20 000 troops reserved in Nagasaki. The Sino-Japanese war (1894-5) started because of the Donghak peasant revolution. In that, the Korean Goverment used anywhere from 3,000 to 50,000 troops to repress potentially over 300,000 peasant rebels. The Japanese helped crush the rebellion with 3,000 troops, who performed much better than the Koreans. It must have been the higher number, because 6,000 Korean troops died in the rebellion. Anyway, lets say 50,000 at most. But What about the Japanese? Sing-Japanese war: 240,000 men Russo-Japanese war (1904-5, IRL) 650,000 peak strength, 1,200,000 throughout the war. EDIT: After continued reading, in the early 1890s the Koreans tried to modernize, with 1,000 men trained by Russians, and armed with chosen guns, serving as the nucleus of the new army, which reached in those early years 28,000 men. So yes, saying 50,000 would be reasonable if Korea is going to fight. Not exactly an impossible threat after all.

One of those two has no chance to backfire majestically.

I think Deso speaks of the Eight Nations PM which you are in. I also wish we could like in PMs.

Hey GM (@coolguy14)! We're decided to 'help' the Qing out with this boxer revolution. We'll send over 170k soldiers on over 250 ships, armed to the teeth. We don't consider this as overkill because we intend to make ourselves welcome in here. Can you play as the Qing, getting rekt harder than any NPC in TW or RP history of EFC's RP board? I give Desophaeus credit for this.
