Russia 1900-Military
As of now, military turns will only be the expedition to relieve the siege of the Legations.
May 31; Port Arthur Expedition
ORDER OF BATTLE: 68,000 Infantry, 100 field guns, 50 howitzers, 11 battleships, 12 cruisers, 15 escorts, 10-20 undefined French Ships.
C in C: General Nikolai P. Linevich of Russia
From Port Arthur, the Expedition plans to land at Tianjin. However, to secure the landing, the Dagu Forts must be secured. Before military action is taken, the Expedition negotiates with the Qing troops to let them pass.

The negotiations succeed. Added to that, some Qing troops (200) join the relief of Tianjin.
The Boxer Siege of Tianjin is well underway. They face 10,000 Chinese Army defectors, 2,000 Gansu Braves, and an unkown number of Boxers. Before the Expedition storm to take Tianjin, the artillery pieces fire to suppress Boxer artillery and damage their army. A telegraph is sent, ordering the civilians in the immediate area to evacuate.
Bigger dice, bigger damage.
Boxer Artillery is suppressed. Parts of the city with Boxer troops are hit.
Now, a 30,000 man detachment storms the city.
A 10! 100 Allies are killed (or captured then horribly mutilated by the Boxers) while 200 are wounded. In contrast, 8,000 Qing bodies and counting lie dead. 2,000 Allied soldiers originally guarding Tianjin are reinforced by 2,000 more.
We march to Peking. Rolling for casualties caused by sunstroke in the march.
Heatstroke kills 40 Allied soldiers.
June 2; Battle of Beicang-Yangcun
Allied soldiers find their route to Beijing blocked by 30,000 Qing defectors under the command of Ma Yukun. Before they assault the Qing defectors, artillery bombards their position.
The Qing suffer heavy casualties and are stunned due to the barrage.
The Allies charge the Qing trenches. Casualty roll.
40 Allied soldiers are killed by minor Qing defector fire.
We fight for the trenches.
A 3!
300 Allied soldiers are killed during the fight. Heavy casualties are inflicted on the Qing, but not enough to take the trenches. After being driven out, the expeditionary force is ambushed by 50,000 Boxers. Less dice, less Allied casualties.
200 Allied soldiers are killed. Now, a counterattack is done.
300 more Allies fall, but the Qing retreat.
10 June; Relief of the Legations
Each nation assaults a certain gate of the Legations. Russia with 19,000 troops, France with 23,500 troops, Germany with 19,000 troops, and A-H with 1,900 (!) troops.
Assault on each gate. Russian:
French:
German:
A-H:
France is the first to reach the Legation Quarter! Congratulations to
Jean-Luc Picard ! Russian assaults suffer the heaviest resistance and arrive last with 300 dead. A-H miraculously reaches the gate, with 200 casualties. 100 German casualties.
TOTAL CASUALTIES: 1,540
200 to poor A-H, 540 to poor Russia, 400 each to Germany and France.
The recent relief of the Legation Quarter has worried the Qing court. On 12 June, Empress Dowager Cixi declares war on the Powers (whoever plays Qing-
Imperial RomeBall perhaps?). The Expedition finds itself surrounded in Peking. Linevich attempts to secure Peking.
First, troops try to capture Qing artillery. Need a 7 to succeed.
A 12! The entire Qing artillery corps is taken. The Expedition in Peking breathes easy. However, Linevich plans to attack the Forbidden City and capture Cixi.
Attack on the Forbidden City. Need a 5 to succeed.
A 6! The Forbidden City is taken, and Peking. The Empress tries to escape, but a detachment tries to catch her. Need a 6 to succeed. 400 Expeditionary troops are lost.
The Empress is taken. Response from the Qing awaits, but their morale has been crushed. 50 Expeditionary troops die.
June 14; Invasion of Manchuria
The 200,000 men Army of Manchuria, under Marshal Alexeev, with 200 howitzers and 800 howitzers invade Manchuria. To start the invasion, Russian troops cross the Amur River. They assault some minor Qing positions. Need a 5 to succeed.
A 6! The river is crossed, but the Qing retreats in good order. 500 Russians are killed or captured. Howitzers and artillery fire at the retreating Qing.
A 9! The Qing retreat turn to a rout.
June 16
The Russian built city of Harbin is threatened by Qing troops. Before any relief is staged, Artillery tries to weaken the besieging Qing.
A 6! The troops charge the Qing. Some rifles attack their flank. Need a 5 to succeed.
An 8! Harbin is relieved and the railway to Port Arthur is open. 600 Russians are killed or captured. The Russians board the train to secure Manchuria.
June 19
A detachment of 20,000 arrive at Changchun. The city is to be stormed immediately. 50 howitzers and 200 field guns fire.
Russian troops climb the Changchun walls. Less dice, less casualties.
A 3! 300 Russians die.
The storm starts. Need a 6 to succeed.
An 8! Changchun is taken with 700 Russians lost.
June 23
The last roadblock to Port Arthur is the city of Shenyang. Due to the strategic importance of the city, 100,000 troops assault it.
The surrounded Garrison of Shenyang is convinced to surrender. Need an 8.
The garrison refuses to surrender. Artillery starts to fire.
A 10! The Russian storm Shenyang. Need a 5 to succeed.
A 7! 1,000 Russians die.
Manchuria is nearly secured. The path to Port Arthur is open. Rolling for resistance.
