I put Rommel a half step ahead of Rokossovsky for output. Govorov is the second best artillery commander. He is the only non-IAP option other than Konev with six star artillery rating. Incidentally, I just had a mission offered that requires 24 artillery skill for four generals. That is not possible. You'd need four generals with six stars on artillery, and there are only three even with IAP purchase of Zhukov. A little annoying.

He is slow, but it is not an issue in WC4. |

Rommel, Rokossovsky, Vatutin are more or less equal as tank Commanders, imo... All of them potentially could have 4 good skills for a tank general.

You get some additional utility out of the extra ability slot from Rokossovsky and Rommel. Not that shelter is the most useful skill, but it's something. Crossfire/Desert Fighting both have potential usefulness for Rommel. |

When are you doing the bronzes cause i want to buy a cheap one for my first general but idk who to get Messe is a great option for your first general. He is cheap, a solid tank general and can be used in infantry and naval roles as well. I'm planning to update with bronze options tonight. |

Bagramyan can have a higher rank, he is a tiny bit tankier, 1 more hex move and fine output, at least he can be ranked about the same as Auchinleck.

Bumped Auchinleck down to C-plus and Bagramyan up to C-minus. Auchinleck gets a slightly higher rank because he can be upgraded to five stars on tank skill and because his abilities are better. Panzer Leader and Explosives give him better output. But I bumped him down a notch because he shouldn't quite be on par with Messe. Messe starts with higher tank skill and more versatility for cheaper price. |

Messe has become useless for me since I am too far into the campaign and I need a replacement general since I don't want to buy Manstein, and Messe is my only general. I am thinking of dismissing Messe and buying Patton until I get to HQ 16 since that's when I unlock Guderian. Then when I get to HQ 16, I will dismiss Patton and I will have enough medals to buy Guderian.
Nah, the last post was in 2017 and it's almost 2019. I doubt you will answer.

Don’t get him. Vatutin is a solid option. Timoshenko is really fast. I would really get another general as opposed to replacing Messe. Leeb is also a very popular complimentary choice to Messe. |
