Background:In real life, no European powers intervened on the side of the confederates during the American Civil War, but in this scenario, France will join the side of the Confederates, and Russia will join the Union. Mexico will also join the Union and Brazil will join the confederates. Spain, Britain, and other countries can also get involved if they so wish. Meanwhile, events in Europe such as the German and Italian unifications also will affect the huge war about to take place.
