Rommel committed suicide - although he didn't have much choice in the matter. Is it Tom Cruise?

After the failed assasination attempt, Friedrich Fromm, in order to save his own life, betrayed him Who is he? Not Rommel? Rommel actually participated in the operation, but his health was not good, hence he wanted to rest, when this operation failed. When Hitler learnt about this, he gave him two choices - a. to commit suicide and die with full military honours b. to be captured by the SS Rommel choose the first one. He even informed his family an hour before his suicide that it will be his last day and his dead body will reach home in an hour. BTW, the person in the riddle is not Rommel Hint - July 20 1944 assasination plot

Iirc 20th July was also the date that his car was strafed by a Spitfire in Normandy and the official story was that he died from the injuries sustained in this attack. Is it von Stauffenberg?
