He is only 1380, very cheap, so you can save the medals to upgrade him. What I don't like from Mannerheim are elastic defense (although Rundstedt's no different), and he only has one empty slot. To me, raider, guerrilla, and rumor are obligatory on infantry considering their role in the battle field. So it only leaves me with 2 choices: Rundstedt or Yamashita. Mannerheim is too reckless, he doesn't have any defensive skills. Well you can give Mannerheim guerilla or rumor. The thing about guerilla is, you would never want to leave your infantry gen in a place that you would need guerilla (like in front of a heavy tank) so I personally don't like it that much. What I want on infantry is insane damage so I can wreck cities and infantries easily which Mannerheim does well with jungle fighting and high level of raider. Anyways the only places I'm going to use infantry generals are invasions and conquests. Mannerheim=More offensive Rundstedt=More defensive Yeah, but enemies are also stationed in cities, that's why when cracking a city you also need guerrilla, besides there's no harm with making your infantry more combat capable, they can be a nice support too.

The intention of using infantry counts a lot.

This is why Yamashita is so strong, for he combines Guerilla with powerful offensive capabilities, not to mention his mobility stats. The lack of rumor is tolerable since my intention when it comes to inf gens is to siege cities, not pit them against tanks

Besides, they're fast and some commandos deals extra damage to tanks or infantries. With guerrilla and rumor infantries can be a support unit too.

That's why I'm going to use infantry generals to blitz through Siberia, Africa, and America where there isn't usually a tank guarding the city. Usually there might be a light infantry. Btw Sun Li-jen of the Glorious RoC, what do you think is better on Mannerheim? Infantry leader or Guerilla?

Btw Sun Li-jen of the Glorious RoC , what do you think is better on Mannerheim? Infantry leader or Guerilla? If you ask me, the answer is obvious, rumor. I want to make my infantry general combat capable. But since you have Mannerheim (which has no guerrilla) rumor doesn't work that well. My suggestion is to sell Mannerheim and then buy Rundstedt or Yamashita, give them the guerrilla/raider, and rumor. But if you want to make a fort-cracking infantry gen, then you can buy Yamashita and give him rumor and explosives or explosives and infantry leader, or simply give explosives to Mannerheim, although that's not my play style.

For yamashita definitely give him infantry leader and guerilla; gotta make use of his offensive capabilities. I gave explosives to mannherheim, which works just fine. I don't need to have rumor on my infantry generals; just guerilla would suffice.

I might add that and place Mannerheim on an Australian Commando and see him blast cities and strongholds to shreds.

I say plain fight and rumor. Keep in mind to not upgrade elastic defence. Its a horrible skill Yeah, since he has rumor and guerilla together, he’ll be kind of like Peter in Ew5 Is elastic defense so bad if it is upgraded fully? That is plus 20 health to all fortress units adjacent to you. Rather useful in, say, Polish conquest or NATO 1. I may just be someone who builds forts a lot, but they are good for something, such as watching a city when you are gone, or even just defending your general so he takes less damage. Elastic defense is a horrible skill, but it isn't useless. My two IPCs. (By the way, will GoG 3 have oil. I wish WC4 kept it.)

Good for entertainment purposes like in conquest worthless elsewhere

They're already tough and cheap to make. And they hit the same even when their health is low. Also, are you going to put your general near forts all the time? Think about the ammount medals it takes too.
