Just completed the Holy Roman Empire/Austria campaign. You get to control John in the battle of Vienna, and he performed quite well! Even though I dint use his terrain a lot, he did just like a great artillery general would. He is pretty good honestly. He is what moltke is trying to become. When he is on a combined tile, he hits harder than napoleon Him and Karl are the reason Austria isn’t a complete joke. Except for Phillip, pretty much all of their other generals are crap.

Well, I’m buying John over Sophia. If you said that Sophia disappointed you, and if John seemed awesome for me, I already know who to buy.

Its just that on siege artillery, the crit skill for arty ain’t that great (but alert isn’t bad). But she loses johns ability to have 2 terrain bonuses at once. Plus she is really good in the palace for defensive missions.

The thing about test drives in ew6 is you kind of have to fully upgrade them to get their potential. Which takes about a week

Play as the Ottoman Empire in 1798 and you will see how godly an upgraded Mahmud is.

He's got lv 2 skills during that one. So that means that he's even better by your standards.

Storm fortifications is a good skill but not exactly one that makes or breaks an artillery general in my opinion.
