I hate to compare gens without real figures. Let's compare them taking into account not only skills but also stats!! I propose to use: Grenadiers (lv2) for infantry - Netherlands 1798 Heavy Cavalry (lv2) for cavalry - Netherlands 1798 Siege artillery (lv2) for artillery - Russia 1798 Frigate (lv2) for navy - Great Britain 1798 REQUIREMENTS: All techs are max. All gens with max Title. Rank is not important. As it only influences HP and all gens are equal here. No items. Specific medals (aura, terrain) are to be used. Let's terrain be a priority if gen has both aura and terrain as it gives more than aura to the stats increase even though difference is marginal. Terrain gens are placed on a specific terrain tile. UPD: I finally completed my tech for navy, so here are admirals: Treville, Jervis, Hood, Jones - to be added

Massena is the only general who the entire forum thinks is good.

Iosef Stalin , the purpose of the thread is to show real power of the gens, not to confirm or contradict someone's opinion. Even in case Iosef Stalin personally is sure he doesn't need such an advice. Please do not quote the screenshots. The thread will not be readable. best75 could You delete quoted screenshots please?

My kind of approach. However you should also test the damage they do in worst, usual and best case scenarios to make a proper comparison. Also, how you got so much money to upgrade all techs?

Can you show us what garibaldi’s damage is like when three aura buff units surround him, and whether or not he can one hit kill an enemy (when tactics master triggers). More like two hits but still.

I have Alexander and Dabrowski in my CN version, but unfortunately none of them is fully upgraded yet. I will upload the pictures after all upgrades will be done...
I also have Ney in my GP version but it is somewhat neglected nowadays. Nevertheless I will upload his image as well afterwards...

I had a lot of time recently as I broke my leg So EW6 was a good time killer for several months Regarding damage tests. It is much more complicated, as in that case You need to control a lot of things. As there are different skills influence different situations. But these screens can help us to compare let's say basic gens power. After that we can easily add those 20 points for Tunnel for example (or other bonuses) when we discuss this or that situation or strategy. It's just sometimes in a discussion someone says: Hey, but he has Storm fortification! I wanted to show that even though there are good skills very often good skills can't compensate stats diference.

Thanks for the effort man. Storm fortifications is kind of like having a second salvo skill. But yeah i agree, it doesn’t make or save a general. The best skills have a balanced mix of both. Sorry about the leg man, hopefully it gets better

I added screenshot for Dambrovsky. Thanks to Cloud save and the fact that Dambrovsky is only a Duke I easily traded Kutuzov and upgraded Dambrovsky. Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus , compare him with Davout. He is 30% stronger Tactic Master is good but only 20%. Even though for Cavalry it triggers much more often, 30% is a huuuuge difference. Moreover Dambrovsky buffs allies. So Davout can't compete to Dambrovsky for the place of 1st or 2nd cavalry gen in the team. However as a stand alone fighter he is comparable due to very good Edge skill.
