Nice general haha. He is pompey but with the infantry aura and additional 3 movement Yeah , I removed roar at the moment ... I wanted to fully benefit of the flag I just gave mine a crossbow. It’s better than roar as it doesn’t need high morale to crit.

I've just realized that my general deals more damage than any others (except for Mithridates the lion king) . Imagine if I had invested in making him a Cavalry oriented commander.... I mean , the game gives you many cavalry scrolls (much more than infantry or archery).

I mean , the game gives you many cavalry scrolls (much more than infantry or archery). You can still change him any time tho. You’ll lose about 100-200 medals for the skills but thats about it. I would wait till the germanicus uniform comes out, then go right ahead. You’ll really on need to change infantry commander and shield wall on yours

Archers can have 6 upgrades in attack right now. Insanely powerful. And if free commander build as archer we can fix archer's bad movement. Shall we all rebuild out free commanders into archer in the end game?

Building your general how a archer commander (and give him a laurel crown) is practically a Octavian with more movement and a bit more of attack.

andrei, well, archer commander and advantage is a must imo, and this is all for being Octavian but more speed.

I think Archer Commander + Plain Fighting or Jungle + Advantage + Accuracy is probably the best build for an archer, so you are right. Besiege and Counterattack get purged because you really don’t want your archer getting attacked, and besiege because attacking only enemies that are weaker than you should be saved for cavarly units.

The game wants that we change periodically our free commander orientation (not his sexual gender) in order to balance our team when we have no medals for better heroes. At the moment (till chapter 8 where I am ) an infantry oriented general is more convenient due to +15% aura and the good amount of free scrolls the game gives . A cavalry oriented general is the second option (always free scrolls) but no attack aura by now... An archery general is for those who have already poured scrolls on other iaps generals or golden ones.

Archery generals would be powerful as there are no actually good generals in the base game with march (other than trebonius who is the cheapest general in the entire game). So having a fast and strong archer general would be quite helpful in end game.

I think it is time to refresh the portraits of our Commanders. My guess some progress is made, and some of them are very scary dudes already

kingbutawl, yes, i think cav and infantry commander are the best for f2p players, But i think cav > inf for commander, because , yes infatry +15% damage is pretty good. To upgrade my commander to marshal i need aroun 900 medals. To max the skills i need 270 + 210 + 140 + 180 = 800 medals. For max a infantry commander (for the set of skill i like more) i need 600 medals for general rank, 45(4) to max inf commander, 15 (11) for max tunnel, i think shield wall cost 25/35 (11), for siege 25 (10) = 180 + 165 + 275/375 +250 = 870 / 970. A total of around 1470/1570 medals for inf and a total of around 1700 medals for a cav gen. I dont count the Laurel Crown because i will buy anyway. (6 members)Infantry commander and team with around the price for upgrade the skills: -Arminius: 380 medals for rank up, for upgrade Guerrilla 105 and dont need buy anything for lvl up assault to lvl4. 380 + 105 = 485 -Antony: dont need more investment with free scrolls you can upgrade cav commander to lvl4 -Pompey: inf commander 270 -Commander : around 1470/1570 -Labienus : inf commander 270 - Crasus : siege 150 tunnel 150 = 300 Total with Labienus = 2495/2595 With Crasus instead of Lab= 2515/2615 (6 members) Cavalry Commander and team. -Cav commander: around 1700 -Huo / Arminius : guerrilla 210. - Antony: cav commander 270 -Pompey : dont need invesment -Crasus : Siege 75 + tunnel 150 = 225 Total with Huo/Arminius : 2135 Total with Antony: 2195 I dont count the arches gens, because they not change for my plans, Mith and Drusus will not be affected. In terms of usefulness Cav = Inf, in terms of power in my opinion the cav wins for a bit, but in term of price = Cav > Inf with a difference of around 300 medals. Sorry for the long text, its only my opinion.

Sorry for the long text, its only my opinion. A cavalry oriented free general is a good choice because the game gives you a lot of free scrolls to upgrade many powerful skills (cav commander or assault for example) . I made an infantry oriented general just to use the +15% of attack that makes my Free hero almost as strong (if not more sometimes) as my best cavalry generals. I didn't upgrate his skills because I used what the game gave me (roar , inf commander , shield wall, plain fighting ) so that I could probably switch for a cavalry general too , when they will add the +15% cav attack .
