It is finished. If Drusus is a mediocre general, hardly better than Surena, then I prefer mediocre Drusus over many other golden boys

Of course, it is possible to give crown to other archers, but comrade Drusus don't need steroids, he is a natural bodybuilder , so we can save crown and orations for others. Comrade Drusus with level 5 of his most important skill plus crossbow has 40% critical rate. And that alone makes him a very stable damage dealer.

It's called being capricious . Nah, Drusus is great because inspire. Hate it when i deal less damage because some random unit hits you. Also, agreed. How can Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus dislike the greatness that is Crassus. And what is unique in this Inspire? You can put this effect on any of Your gen anytime with no any problem. 1. Makes it so you don't need to rely on the Laurel crown 2. Don't have to keep swapping laurel crown between units just to remove morale debuffs 3. Oration is only for 1 unit. You said it yourself, you dislike swapping items . Besides, it took me 3 days of waiting on the shop just for the item to appear, and not everyone can buy the item, especially f2p who would use their medals for generals first. If someone like Arminius had inspire, you can just give him the other top tier items to deal more damage. High morale is easy to remove, since a simple attack of an enemy unit has a chance of removing it, and a simple flank removes it. Morale down is a problem because it lowers the attack. I usually have most my generals morale down because i keep attacking cities, and although gold ring may help, it gets removed immediately. That's my justification why Inspire is a top tier talent. Also immune to rumor, which is something. Inspire also serves as pretty much counter attack, since if you have high morale all the time, your counterattacks will never be lowered, unlike for units who have high morale, but the moment it's gone, damage is lowered.

So many words about the talent which is just.. just a talent. Other gens has their own talents. And Drusus doesn't have it. And You all describe it as something unique and special while it is not. This morale: a) can easily be achieved with no problem. b) won't save Your life if You have nothing else but morale. Will You send Your archer general into the middle of enemy line? No, as he will die. Yes, being highly motivated and enthusiastic, but die. What's the point to specify that anti-rumour reason for archer?

andrei, I was talking about inspire in general . As for Drusus, Archers are used to deal as much damage as possible, so i wouldn't send him to the front lines. It may be a talent, but it's a really good one. Drusus has advantage, so he has free crits. Would be great to have other better skills, but might as well do with what he has. From what i experienced so far, having inspire all the time>not having inspire all the time. Laurel crown is pretty much Inspire but as an item, and we all know how great Laurel crown is.

If Drusus is a mediocre general, hardly better than Surena, then I prefer mediocre Drusus over many other golden boys I don’t understand how drusus can be worse or equal to he who shall not be named. Drusus and him are essentially the same general, but drusus is a higher rank and has inspire, whereas surena doesn’t.

There you go, I gave Crassus a curve. Now he is barely passing enough to graduate.

Crasus is good in attacking cities , he with a small group can take big cities very fast and the enemy cant react and cant defend the positions for the blitzkrieg of crassus !!!

Again with the Crassus hate lol.
I thought we already covered infantry commander vs siege? Why are you again saying any gen with it can do better than Crassus at city cracking?

Again with the Crassus hate lol. I thought we already covered infantry commander vs siege? Why are you again saying any gen with it can do better than Crassus at city cracking? I don’t really remember covering it. Not every general, I was a bit hypocritical here previously, off the block with infantry commander can deal more damage than crassus against cities. But generals like labienus and pompey will deal more damage than crassus if their second attack triggers. In my personal preference, this is what makes crassus lose favor for me. However, he can be useful in other ways such as being a meatshield. I don’t like him, but that doesn’t mean that a good player cannot take advantage of his skill set. Hence I bumped him up to a c-, for some he is meh, for others he is a must buy.

I should also mention that I disliked explosives even in ew4 and wc3, where they were arguably at their strongest. So I have a certain bias

I should also mention that I disliked explosives even in ew4 and wc3, where they were arguably at their strongest. So I have a certain bias You are definitely biased, against Crassus. Two other gold gens, Burebista and especially Sertorius, have less purpose than Crassus. I suppose if you for some reason wanted a anti-archer specialist then Burebista could hold a spot on the team. But archers are uncommon and the easiest to kill already so meh. Sertorius has two of the same skills as Crassus, but then has formation which is utterly useless, and intercept which makes no sense on a general with counterattack. If you specifically target archers then when it is the enemies turn they will attack you, negating your counterattack skill because you cannot counter archers. So thats a terrible design flaw on top of a terrible talent compared to Crassus crit. On average your extra attack from infantry commander would have to do 240 damage just to break even with siege. Thats simply not happening under average circumstances. If you like infantry commander better then cool, it’s definitely more useful overall, at least in campaign. But it is not better for cracking a city, especially when you want that city reliably cracked, and not chance based.

Lucius Vorenus, agreed on Crassus. Although let's cut Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus some slack . Thing about Crassus is that he can deal a flat 60 damage to cities. Can't be affected by morale down, just a big 60 damage to the city. Place him on a heavy infantry and city IIs will fall. March is also great. If Siege was only 20 damage, I would just have ignored it, but 60 damage when it reaches lvl 5? Let me have it
