Remember Fatimah and Katerine? They were the artillery and infantry versions of this "all terrain skill gimmick" generals. ET must have figured they needed a cavalry version in EW6.

A general that is all terrain bonuses is never great or even good in some cases.

May look weak but that is not at all the case. Every skill he has other than desert fighting is either good or great. Defense Formation on a cavarly unit? Nioce. Jungle Mountain fighting? Noice. Emperor rank? Noice. 5 skill slots? Noice.
After you replace desert fighting with precision, he will be a very strong cavarly general fittable for end game. Verdict: Overpowered af.
5/5 stars. Only major limit is the fact that he might need two skills changed, buts thats nothing compared to how much potential this guy possesses. His combined ability is also not too amazing when compared to joffre, but his max rank, aura, and variety of terrain bonuses will make him absolutely op.

Cavalry (I think) has massive movement costs for moving through mountains. Sometimes they can’t move through mountains at all even at max tech, and cavalry isn’t that fast either. This guy has potential, but not more than Joffre or Stepanovic imo since his damage is WAY worse, like about 60 ability difference, ~ 15% damage. Not worth it that 9% def imo.

I find terrain bonuses aside from Plain Fighting useless altogether because I don’t bother to micromanage my general and have him move towards specific terrains.

From using stonewall jackson, forests are good on cavarly. Mountain’s will also appear from time to time. Station is a good skill to have. He will be a stonewall jackson lite with aura. I agree though. From using Borevic, who is an absolute beast.
After a textbook change, Nikolaevich can be given either another cavarly aura or strike, maybe even both if one wants to invest further. His other skills, defense formation, station, jungle fighting, are all quite great on cavarly units. Mountain fighting, while not the best, will also be useful now and then. I agree though, mountains hinder cavarly’s movement. Maybe a 5/5 is a little too much credit, but after some investment, this guy may be very good.
