From using stonewall jackson, forests are good on cavarly. Mountain’s will also appear from time to time. Station is a good skill to have. He will be a stonewall jackson lite with aura. I agree though. From using Borevic, who is an absolute beast. After a textbook change, Nikolaevich can be given either another cavarly aura or strike, maybe even both if one wants to invest further. His other skills, defense formation, station, jungle fighting, are all quite great on cavarly units. Mountain fighting, while not the best, will also be useful now and then. I agree though, mountains hinder cavarly’s movement. Maybe a 5/5 is a little too much credit, but after some investment, this guy may be very good. He is at least a 3/5. Not terrible, but also not very good. If you upgrade him, though, maybe you can make him into a 4/5.

Plus the defensive perk will aid in health regen items being more effective for your other cavarly commanders. If you give nikolaevich an aura instead of strike (and then strike instead of mountain’s) nikolaevich will be a great all round general.

I’m still someone that is not a fan of any terrain bonuses aside from Plain Fighting, and Cavalry has better replacements than Defensive Formation in my opinion. If you feel that you can make him great, though, feel free to use him.

Not gonna lie, I once considered buying him just because he has 5 skills. Lol.

Considering skills such as surprise, edge, tactics master, strike, cavarly master and expert, and the aura also exist and are in the demand of.

I have johnston, robert e lee, and stonewall jackson. All of them are amazing

nikolaevich is very good because of the new update. I think I'm going to keep him as my fifth cav general. because what are the alternatives? stepanovic, moltke junior and mackensen. stepanovic does only 13% more damage for 730 medals, moltke junior and mackensen only 8%, I don't think that's worth the hundreds of medals

Can't argue in terms of Nikolaevich's limitations then You might want to swap desert fighting out though, doesnt make much sense since deserts are generally scarce. I think im going for Mackensen to complete the German Army roster, where I get to be in charge as the Chief of the German General Staff along with my (incompetent) nephew

He will be useful for speed runs where you sometimes want to use 5cavalry generals and because of his skills he is also really fast

Plus higher stats. Nikoleavich needs both strike and surprise to be added, but will be stronger than moltke skill wise but not ability wise.

Now that he needs 3 skills to be replaced instead of 4, he is a viable option since 15 skill books isn’t a lot.
