I’m in the Bulgarian campaign now and have Plummer, Jackson, and Moltke as my main Calvary gen. Should I get this guy for fun cuz I have no medals from buying Hipper. I am at the same place, and also bought hipper. I think he was a great purchase and fits in well as my third cav after jackson and moltke |

Hmm I replaced Station for Strike. Should I replace defense formation or mountain fighting for surprise. I'm keeping Jungle and desert.

Guys , explain to me (pls) the actual difference between a gold tier general and a green one with such a good battery of skills .
Like for real ! Why should a player take Plummer instead of Nikolaevich if you have to change the same amount of skills (maybe one more)?

Why should a player take Plummer instead of Nikolaevich if you have to change the same amount of skills (maybe one more)? Better stats. For example, Stonewall Jackson (a gold tier) can reach emperor and will get +60 battle ability points while Philip Sheridan (a green tier) can reach emperor and will only get a meager +28. |

Hi people, I am reading you and learning a lot about this game. Thanks! Seeing that Nikolaevich won't ever hit as hard as many others... Instead of making him stronger, why not just to switch Station to one more aura? If I understood right, he would have highest defense and terrain mobility plus the two auras. He wouldn't be a hard hitter but maybe the best cavarly support? Riding fast cav he won't kill much anyway, but leftovers... But without fighting on first line, he could survive well while bringing his support here and there. I ended sixth camping just by buying Besseler and Hipper with medals, plus Valzov, Horne, McArthur and Bojovic with coins. Only Besseler is fully maxed but I have medals to buy my next top general. Still I am probably buying Nikolaevich first, in the time I discover if the next medal's general needs to be cav or arty... or either if I choose Beatty to ease the seas and try that history mode (Cuban 2nd Independence War is already done with just McArthur and It was quite fun  |

Its better to invest those textbook for other general. But if you need a capable cavalry general you can pick him as 3rd/4th Cavalry gen |

However, you'll need to invest lots of resources (books, silver/gold medals) to make him half decent. Even if you maxed him out, he's still quite weak as compared to the top 6 cav gens. The main purpose of cav gen is to kill as many enemies as possible in 1 turn (with victory rush triggering). High defense is desirable but not that important. I never used him outside history mode. Giving him cav commander is not a good idea as a cav appearing close to him won't happen until very late in the game in Russo-Turkish War. He needs precision strike and surprise.
You can use your medals to buy either Plumer (cav commander included as default skill) or Ivanov. I bought Ivanov and then Plumer. You'll need Beatty eventually, but getting him probably wouldn't help you to 3-star Jutland (according to discussions in the guide). I 3-starred Jutland in my first attempt but I have the full team maxed.
You can now use Cuban war to farm book/silver medal and Hero Medal.
