Actually, should we also consider Mystletainn on melee? I think it's even more suitable since Gungnir effectiveness is limited by melee range. Oh.. is it? Huh. Interesting. I think Mystletainn is a worse nuke than Gungnir, atleast for me anyway. Plus it’s very hard for me to find anyone who can benefit from it. Still, hitting in an AoE is much better than hitting like Formation Master. So it’s probably great on someone like Nobunaga or Washington to wipe tons of generic troops in one attack. I made a couple of short demos of Nobunaga with Mystletainn, first one here link and you can find the other through my channel. I picked Volgograd because it's easy to get to a decent target who's almost surrounded by others, but let me know if you can think of a better one and I'll try it out.

I simply decided to give Edward the Mystletainn for the HP regen. Ragnarok is pretty powerful, but I can’t find anyone who can benefit from it on my team. Saladin has Gungnir. Attila, Asoka and Edward are commanders, Blucher has armor master and is probably going to equip an energy ring. Nobunaga probably won’t have any commanders to help him so he won’t hit that hard and is sort of situational for me anyway. Li Shimin and Bismarck have an active that basically works the same way and don’t deal that much damage to units in the first place. The only person I can think of on my team that can seriously benefit from Ragnarok would be Genghis Khan if I’m fielding 6 cavalry. Or Nobunaga if I’m pairing him with Li Hongzhang/Nelson.

I gotta say that Blucher was truly medals well spent. The difference between lv5 armor master (1 range) and lv6 armor master (2 range) is just staggering. I just beat choice of the age in about 19 turns without breaking a sweat with everyone healthy by the end. Everyone took a beating on the attempt before I had that. Easy Titan Ring.
Course, his damage is lousy, but I’ve finally solved my survivability problem.

You can decrease damage by 75 percent in crucial moments.

There’s three things that kill me; attrition, fog of war, and just bad play. Two of those are things I have some control over and I’m a skilled player overall, so I usually just need to deal with attrition. I actually don’t take that much damage from enemy generals because I usually just instant-kill them with Scarlet Flash or kill them really fast with 2 or 3 commanders at hand. So I shouldn’t get into any such «crucial moments» at all. I just need to not get chipped down over time, and if I need that, I want armor master activated almost constantly, which I can’t really do with Yi Sun-Sin. Meanwhile, you need a lot of ranged support damage to get enemies into kill-range so that you can chain kills with mobility, and Nobunagas damage is superior to Yi Sun-Sins. Plus Leadership is useful sometimes when I don’t have Scarlet Flash at hand. The only reason I’m not using Nobunaga more is because they usually don’t let me field 8 generals.

Yes, I agree, Scarlet flash is so OP right now. With new artifacts in general it is possible to cruise down the contents as it wasn't ever possible before. I would even say it is game changing... I am really curious how it will work in such insane missions like Volgograd, Panama, Los Angeles etc... I would like to try another strategy than that proposed by andrei to beat Volgograd. I was trying to brake through defensive lines previous times, but my damage wasn't enough. I hope with Scarlet flash I can do it...

My idea is to kill this unit in first 4-5 turns. Hopefully Hannibal could do this with Scarlet flash If we take all the buildings there we have enough funds to kill a general on an island with regular machine-gunners...

That is not happening, not in 4-5 turns. Maybe in about 15 or so if you’ve got the maximum possible attack on Hannibal.

Well it is certainly possible to break through the lines as I happen to know a man who has done it: link It definitely took more than 4-5 turns though and with 5 archers (inc. 3 commanders) you can concentrate all that firepower on one sentry, which is something cav & inf can't do. That doesn't mean it can't now be done with Gungnir though and I'll be intrigued to know how you get on.

I did it in 9 without any cavalry generals on one of my previous runs and in 15 my team attacked another target already So, I guess, if Hannibal will hit with a critical hit it could be done in 5-7 turns... But I think it should be another general so that Attila could join attack as well. The key is to kill him before they increase their defence...
