There is one more aspect of the game we should take into account... I mean medals' farming. My belief that best "farmers" in GoG 3 are those who have a chance to repeat attack. In other words the more our general attacks the more chances he has to earn a medal.

Another thought, you are restricted in which generals can be used in campaigns. I’m only on east front ‘41, but I’m probably not buying any Russian generals because I don’t see another campaign they can be used in. so if you are deciding between say Monty or vatutin, I would go Monty (even though I’m iffy on his abilities) because he is usable in more spots. I agree with you, Monty is a considerable choice this time around. Even though you can bring two generals from your team (axis/allies) that isn’t directly involved in that campaign.

So what your saying is that the best farmers are heavy tanks along with a general with panzer leader? Yep... I wonder how the two stack, is it an 84% chance to attack again (60+24, which is the max I've seen) or a 70% chance (1-.4*(1-.24))?

It seems like guderian, leeb, and montgomery are the most popular choices judging by the poll. Guderian and leeb I get but how in the world did montgomery get that many votes!

I mean it makes sense since montgomery is a more defensive oriented tank gen and is featured in 1939west, 1941africa, and 1944west but to win by having 50% of the allied votes is pretty crazy

But I think it is 60 percent to attack again after destroying a unit, and 24 to attack again no matter what... So to say, the dice is cast twice.

Agree, we cannot be sure till we get the mechanics out like the previous game. I think these skills are two different things and are very likely to be considered separately. Thus, 0.60 + 0.24*(1-0.60) = 0.70.

Anyone consider Dowding as the first Allied general? He is a fine infantry general which is what the Allied side lacks and you will eventually want to buy an endgame air force general, which Dowding is qualified as one. So Dowding offers a decent infantry with super strong air power. Monty is probably not needed since we will get Timo for free and be able to buy Rokossovsky or Vatutin (both are better than Montyl, imo) in Eastern Front 1941.

Yes however timo and rokkosovsky most likely won't be featured in the african, and western front campaigns therefore someone like montgomery who is very likely to be featured africa and western front because he won't take up one of your valuable empty slots that you may want to save for someone else

I wouldn't overestimate the value of available historical generals for certain periods... At least for now... In first campaigns we could invite only one "special guest", but I see that their number will be increased as we progress... So, presumably, more slots will be unlocked eventually

Also I see you have purchased rokkosovsky is he any good compared to timoshenko? It wasn't a big problem for me that he has only 3 stars. He has 2 excellent skills for a tank general, and I believe skills will be very important in GoG3 since we can't upgrade them. In my opinion he is definitely better but the real value of generals will be seen only late in the game when our technology tree is upgraded.
