I thought I saw a pretty decent reward for a basic Matsudaira clear before I tapped to close the pop-up out of skipping habit. Or perhaps it was only for the first clear.
Is this true for all basic clears? Am I really ripped off by the game based on my Hegemony-only Rokkaku run?
If your first basic + Hegemony clear for Rokkaku gives you more than 10k copper, it's proof that skipping the basic clear is not really good for a player. If the sum of the rewards add up to 10k copper, then, there is no need to aim for basic clears in a hegemony run.

what do you suggest except hime for vassal group to take ? I usually only do only hime I until subbiuing stage So far, no one has disagreed with Oichi as the Hime of the clan because a +3 diplomatic boost per turn for nearby and adjacent clans prevent relations from dropping or dropping too much. Plus, in many cases, chance of signing agreements rise with diplomatic score. Due to the size of the map, it may be wise to sign alliances or at least agree to passage agreements to attack someone else (like Nagao through Anegakoji).

Before and after a first-time hegemony clear as the Matsudaira. Reward for S-rank not collected yet. Unlike EW7 which made factions twice- or thrice-playable, assuming you didn't aim for a specific Title, the First Clear achievement and winning in a max-point Challenge in one run, I still don't feel the same (yet). Subordinates: Wakasa Takeda (revolted against Isshiki), Nagano, and Suzuki. Allies: Anegakoji, Nagao (I followed the recommended strategy of saving to sign agreements / force subordination), Oda (most troublesome due to low credit, territories bordering and feisty penalties; however, the Clan took the last Ashikaga city and bore the brunt of the Treacherous penalty itself), Hatakeyama, Kitabatake, Tsutsui, Miyoshi, and Isshiki. Clearly, the Oda clan and number of Feisty / Ambitious clan leaders left are NOT the key causes.
After looking at the rewards, it seems like replaying any faction gives only 2.5k copper a run. Every clan I have not played offered a reward of 25 Ban-kin, 10k copper and random materials. If these are the same as the rewards for a simple clear for the first time / a hegemony-only first clear at 10k copper and some Ban-kin, then, a simple + hegemony first run is only slightly better by 2.5k copper and maybe the first clear Ban-kin.
Hatakeyama clan first clear, with an S-rank. Alliances: Nagao, Anegakoji, Imagawa, Oda, Wakasa Takeda, Miyoshi, Shima Navy, and Tsutsui. Subordinates: Nagano, Isshiki, Iga, and Saika. Less than half the map was mine. Fastest run in about 4-6h. Again, destroying the Oda is unnecessary.

I have done the 1-2-3 star clan achievements for both conquest maps. I dont plan to go for domination for all clans, rewards are unacceptable compare to times spent. In EW7 we had decent rewards for each faction domination and then the title rewards. Here we only got domination and the rewards are nonsense. We had mercenary orders and upgrade materials for both general and units. It is only fitting each domination should give at least 2 magatama and some forge material.

ET developers: Give magatama and materials for conquests?! Oh no! It would be better if we come up with an absolutely unnecessary resource called “papers with experience” and stick it into all the awards.

Just started playing - conquest in GCS really sucks. I hate that enemy generals respawn after killing them, it makes fighting them pointless. But I think the single biggest reason it sucks is that the map is just too big and movement too slow. It takes far too long to get around the map and it just makes the game boring. I got fed up halfway through my first attempt at domination. Also, it's a minor thing but it disproportionately annoys me that your allies want you to declare war on your other allies and get mad when you don't.

Welcome to the club of players who were disappointed with their first conquests . In fact, it isn't even half that bad when you get used to it. There are several measures to increase mobility of your units. One of them is to equip your best generals with horses. Another one is to choose mobility as your bonus when you have that opportunity. Besides, it is also possible to increase it by appointing a general to administrative position. Your goal is not to kill as many enemy generals as you see, but capture their cities to end up the endless spamming. So, just ignore them. The castles are often only lightly defended and are easy targets for your first team. Don't forget to deploy a powerful Artillery general early in the game, like Hojo or Otomo Sorin. Be careful with diplomacy, don't get too many allies early on. Just remain on friendly terms with them until the end of your conquest is in sight. 80-100 points are usually a comfortable diplomatic relationship. And if you can kill someone, - do it, instead of making your ally. A bit cruel, but, hey, this is Sengoku Jidai period

I figured out the generals by painful experience but definitely made the mistake of making a lot of allies.

Ugh. This one hurts. I could have had a 37 turn or something finish had I not made one colossal blunder: Boot Kawachi Hatakeyama off to Shikoku. Had I not made that mistake I could have made them submit, instead I had to spend 5 more turns sailing over.

Had I not made that mistake I could have made them submit, instead I had to spend 5 more turns sailing over. That's odd. I've almost never seen the Kawachi Hatakeyama clan attack Shikoku, except when I did it.
A conquest save captures player data at the moment of starting that run. If you made upgrades to yohr gens, it may not be reflected in that save.

I’ll say, I’m pretty skeptical of the whole «never upgrade anything» advice. Temples and docks should of course never be upgraded, markets and mines should also rarely be upgraded. Cities, colleges and barns on the other hand probably should.
This is the first game (to my knowledge) that actually has upkeep costs to keeping units around, and that upkeep cost is on a universal resource that’s used for spawning anything ever. Other games had a force limit to serve a similar purpose but they were nowhere near as brutal as this game because being like two elite units or something over what you can support can put you at like -300 and completely cripple you.
And you might think that buying food is a solution. It’s a necessary evil (ashigaru meatshields) that can be also worth it on occasion (recruiting generals out of taverns), but if you do it too much it’ll destroy you. That’s why you should upgrade barns. It’s more cost efficient than having to buy food every single turn. And you should make sure you’re don’t have to ashigaru meatwall too much.
And knowledge is extremely important. The absolute best things you can deploy are your generals out of taverns. Your best generals will cost knowledge to deploy. Using powerful buffs like the food upkeep reduction, Karo and the mobility boost costs knowledge, but those should come after you’ve deployed your generals and have a healthy knowledge income to support them.
The reason I don’t think you should upgrade mines and markets is because chances are you have a town/barn/college to upgrade elsewhere. Even if they are more than likely profitable.
Edit: Okay EW4 had it but it was trivial there.

My worst nightmare is that someday they decide to improve rewards as they did it in EW7 and we should replay it once again i hope they do improve them... by a LOT. I finally tried out conquest mode. I played 5 minor victories, 1 of which was also hegemony over the last weekend. I will most definitely not play beyond unlocking AkCav, and they are still far away. Only at 295 points. Sb actually have the battlepass xp points figured out yet? Bc the 25/70 i saw posted before doesnt add up. Probably differs on difficulty so if you have the stats pls share.
