OK, I get it. You have music. And cowboys. And one of the largest states in America. And the Charleston. And New Orleans. And agricultural production. And your accents. And the coal and oil industry. And more stuff. But do you know what you guys down south are not great at? Other stuff, in which the stuff is basically as long as your list but on different stuff. And no, I don't have bias against the South. I support this message for its neutrality. And its actual knowledge. And its fairness. bla bla bla. I want to support those who defend the south....but I also don't feel like it. I'm so weak. Its cold up here. I'm cold. I'm not even cold. But I'm not hot either. fasfasffjs

Southern Climate The climate in the South is warm to hot in the spring and summer and cool in the fall and winter. It's naturally colder in the mountains, but nearly everywhere else in the South, the climate will be agreeable all year long.

When it comes to southern food, there is one, AND ONLY ONE, rule to always, without a doubt, cross your heart and hope to die, follow: More butter.Chicken and Waffles tasting dry? Add butter.
Mashed Potatoes not mashed enough? Add butter.
Your carnival missing something? Deep fry some butter.
Made popular by Paula Deen, butter is the cure all end all to southern cooking. .org/image/qtdd5i719/] [/url] Look at that meal!

My mother likes the cut slices of amish butter and put them on her tongue so they melt. nasty tasting plain butter tbh

Southern Music
The south is the home to country music. While I used to hate it with a burning passion comparable only to an original Star Wars fan's hatred of the prequel trilogy, the more I hear it the more southern I truly become.
This is song is the perfect country and western song. Literally. And it's a great model of what country should and used to be. Florida-Georgia Line, Carrie Underwood, no one needs that modern crap. THIS, is what southern music needs to be like.

I ain't no Southern Belle, so forgive me if I stray. Been a long time since I did a course on the history of Rock and Roll.
Southern Music
The South is most famous for Country and Western music, a genre they dominate. For example, Nashville Tennessee is known as "Music City U.S.A" and its the home of the Grand Ole Opry, a 86 year old concert organization that is the longest running Radio broadcast in USA, albeit not on a network. The best stars of country appear on their stage.
But that is not all!
The south, partially through its African-American community, is the home of blues and rock and roll. Its record companies dominated popular music in the 1950s and 60s.
While the most famous Heavy metal bands, particularly in the early days, are British, most of them cite or are obviously influenced by blues and southern bands. Thus one can easily say Heavy METAL was started by the south \m/
I have no doubt they put their mark on pop as well, though I know less about that. Whatever way you cut it, the South has a giant influence in modern music.
Edit: too slow. I dare say my post is informative in other ways though!
