Welcome to Chancellor Otto Von Bismarck/Commander William Riker/Brazilball's lesson on Southern Culture. The Southern Continental United States is home to many states of different cultural backgrounds, but with huge similarities. Except Southern Florida. Damn Yankees. As you can see, we make up a large portion of the US, perhaps the largest. Don't quote me on that though, let's just assume it is. We've made tons of great things if this glorious nation, and have always stood up for the greater good. Especially North Carolina. But do you Yankees and Westerners really know just how great the south is? Let the lesson begin. A. Southerners don't constitute the largest part of the U.S, I'm almost sure of that. My bets are on the Northeast or the Far West. B. I'm not going to deny the fact that numerous Southerners have done fantastic things for this country, like George Washington, Zachary Taylor, Sam Houston, the Wright Brothers, Woodrow Wilson, MLK Jr, etc, but I cant say you've always stood up for the greater good. I mean seceding and forming a separate country over the issue of whether to keep slavery or not is not that much of a greater good. C. Im not against the South, but I feel the need to state this. If I was against the South, I'd want them to leave, which I don't. Let me end this message with a great video of Americanness. Enjoy. *Swear warning*

Since that is a blatant mistruth. It is definitely not a coincidence that the states which seceded A: All had slaves B: All the states which seceded made the most off slavery and had the most slaves C: All seceded after Abraham Lincoln took power in Washington D.C who vowed not to allow slavery to expand west, which scared the Southern secessionists as they feared soon Lincoln would abolish the institution EDIT: Wait a second, you're Bismarck II, my b.

Also, to the people saying "Damn Yankees" and whatever, I'm afraid to say that the term 'Yankee' and 'Yank' is used for all good Americans. Just take a look at the WWI song, 'Over There':

When I was in florida last I went to resteraunt called sonnys barbeque. It was amazing. Not as good as barbeque in Germany, but good. The skillet however, was superior to what we have in hessen. It came with a skillet sauce that was so much better than the usual bbq sauce you get at ALDIs I live 2 minutes from Sonny's. Their ribs are great too.

A. All had slaves, yes. B.True C.True Self-Added D: Can you really blame the south, though? The southern economy was entirely based on Slavery. Some states wouldn't have been opposed to gradually removing it, but Lincoln wanted to pull the rug out from under them and destroy their economies. Look at the south after the war, life was hell, hardly anyone was employed. Morally and ethically wrong, like I said, totally. But would you want the whole infrastructure of your state to fall apart like that?
