IT is possible to buy Konev first, and iT is not very very hard. Did conquest with Finland and spain. And a couple of scenario's! Bought with the coins from scenario a lot of howitzers and the little artillerie ones. And unlocked konev and Did the 2 quests for 20 and 40%. Hè is only Aboutaleb 1590 medals then!!

What I did is playing scenario allies till 8 and axis till 5. Not even all scenario's with full stars. Only played allies 1 on hard to, both with 3 stars. I completed conquest with Finland and with Spain. All those medals and the ones from archievments for conquest got me to about 2100 medals. From the (dollar) coins I got from the conquest I upgraded the artillerie technology as far as I could. Then I bought artillerie for the Konev missions. 10 howitzers and 10 field artillery. The first to unlock him I completed after one try, and also the 20% one after 1 try. The 40% one was a bit harder because you are facing a Super tank with generaal. Failed the first time. Bought new artillery and tried again!! Got the howitzers going north to help Konev to attack the supertank. And the field ones to attack the City to the left. The funny thing is that Konev died in that attempt (i was surprised iT was not a failure) but I managed to kill the Generals. So after the 40% Konev is only about 1590 medals. But soon I'm gonna try it again. Cause my phone display is broken and i'm ordening a new phone. So i need to start over.
About Konev, you can upgrade his infantery, air force, artillery leader and his rank. His rank is L Colonel, to upgrade to Colonel cost 300 medals and got him to 138% health. About his attack power. I put him 10 times on the howitzer from Finland in conquest and attacked the double motorised infantery and start over. His damage was between 70 and 90. And i got 1 crit with 109.

Hi to all, i'm new in the forum but playing ET games for years.
For me it's important to get generals as quick as possible. Then you may upgrade them. At the start i prefer one -cheap- general for tank and one more for artillery. So i took Messe (tank) and Crerar (artillery).
After some time i've completed 10 missions + one conquest mode and suddenly i got extra 500 medals from achievements. It says "completed 1943 conquest as A class". It is obvious there is a bug because my 1943 is not active yet. I couldn't post screenshot to the blog in mobile mode. Buy i'll do it via desktop.
Then having medals i got a real artillery general: Blamey. I'll use Crerar as infantry general.

Welcome! Great you found our forum and great start with also really posting I think indeed having at least 3 generals will let u do stuff i can dot with only konev. So getting generals at the start will be making more sense then with wc3

Well, seeing from other players' experience, I will certainly not wait for top generals as my first team members. WC4 is all about medals, so the main strategy will be to receive as many of them as possible, as soon as possible. Hire/dismiss strategy was never an ideal option in WC3. Neither it is in WC4 (Hire Auchinleck for 825 medals and dimiss him for 660 medals doesn't seem to be a bargain)... But it seems to be the best option we have. We need generals to get medals, and we need medals to hire decent generals. Vicious circle, I would say... But I wonder how many medals per 24 h Auchinleck (or another mediocre general) is capable to receive starting from the very beginning? If 30-50, then hire/dismiss strategy will deffinitely pay off all possible expenses. Another top priority - to unlock wonders (that give additional Exercises). Thus 2-3 mediocre generals can be more usefull from the very beginning than a top one (literally one )...

And millitary Parades can give 15 medals every 8 h. Thus for example one additional Parade (and second general) can double the sum...
