I haven't heard about Govorov so far. I know that he is very slow, but he has very good output at a pretty reasonable price. Especially with the jungle fighting skill. I have Govorov and I do have a positive feeling about him. But, like you mentioned, he's a hard hitter and a slow crawler. Anyway, I do not think his movement is a big issue because you will eventually upgrade artillery movement in HQ.

How were you able to save the medals for patton? I went as far as I could go without a general (past Axis 7 or somewhere around there, along with completing some of the side missions - whatever they're called). For the rest, yes, I gave up and had to buy with money. No way someone could just save up for a top tier as their first guy, because of how difficult it becomes to earn medals. On another note. I was thinking of settling with Badoglio or Auchinleck at first, maybe even Leeb. Lol now ppl can easily get guderian as their first general without cashing

For first general I don't believe it's possible to get a gold tier general. Still I will want to test out this option I actually did... My first general was Guderian. No money spent. Completed the European campaign with mostly 3 stars Beat the first 2 conquests with both 3 and 2 star countries (UK and Canada). And it gave me enough medals to get what I wanted

In both WC3 and WC4, the first gen for me is Manstein, and by medals is Guderian. All hail the Gods of tanks.

The closest I've gotten to getting an IAP general is through modded APKs that have the IAP generals as generals you can pay for with medals.

Messe. He's affordable, and in the economical sense, very cheap for what he brings to your armed forces. As for end-game general, I'd go with Blitzkrieg daddy Heinz Guderian. He already has the three most important armored combat skills - Blitzkrieg, Armored Assault, and Panzerkampfwagen Leader. When your pockets are full of virtual medals, proceed to upgrade him accordingly to your military doctrine. He fits well in, well, lightning attacks and encircling movements. Alongside Guderian, get yourself a 40% off Konev and 40% off Nimitz. Upgrade them after getting 40% off Dowding or Yamamoto or Arnold.
