Don't forget the backflips,an important part of the illuminati package As posted numerous times, several of these groups are by invitation only. The picking and choosing is from the group members themselves not the staff. The groups runs their own affairs, they decide who to invite. This speed record group was started by the staff but may be eventually run by the group members themselves too. For now joining it is simple: Make a record of some kind and show the pics in a thread. Not rocket science or anything but not as easy as taking candy from a baby either

Damn, I realised there hasn't been any new Illuminatis for over a year and new XOs in over 6 months. And any Pioneers in 3 years Btw Saltin when you mentioned RPs when discribing illuminatis do you mean Desophaeus ? Because I really want to join that group and I'm not sure if I can pump out 20 guides per day I have analysed the Illuminate group, and members like Eastern Empire only has 57 posts. On the surface level even if you have 7000 posts, regardless whether or not they are all guides that are useful, there must be something more sinister to this... Leonid Govorov, nothing like a good mystery novel and a bit of a mini investigation (till you get fired of course, reference intended)

Ok, after 5 minutes(not a dedicated detective and still some coursework left to type out) I have drawn that... Illuminati Group Requirements: 1) Be a Brunchminati wc4 imposter. Just kidding but lol 2) Play games that the group members are in. If you are a game hermit with no one in the group playing the game(e.g wc4 for me, and parking stars for whoever likes parking xD), it is harder to get noticed for groundbreaking discoveries( Leonid Govorov, which I found a few with you ) or very complicated analysis of certain game features like cost production or money efficiency. 3) Be an insane Saltin, or kanue fan. Works well when you idolize someone (totally considering the case of Antonio and Sebastian in Twelfth Night or What You Will) 4) Get badges from someone. Makes your status more credible 5) Maybe some rituals that desophaeus and saltin suggested? Definetely foolproof and efficient \(O..O)/ 6) Ok seriously, there is no big secret. Not the followers you have, nor the popularity you gain, badges received, who you choose to idolize, how many posts you spam etc. The true way, and perhaps the only way, is to focus your dedication in helping out the community. Welcome new members and make them feel at ease. Answer any questions willingly and try to extend help to other things that the member might need. Take the initiative to do in depth analysis or copy paste texts. Like and commend members for their efforts. Be creative in coming up with awesome strategies, or don't be hesitant in sharing tips on how you broke a certain record, anyways what's the fun if you keep in the secret and the record goes unbeaten? Wish members an enjoyable day when it is their birthdays. Comfort members for their failed attempts or negative feelings. Go the extra mile to encourage them. No one might see these small efforts, after all Saltin can't go around every single gaming thread scouting for potential Illuminati members. Then, what is the point of doing all these for the title? Well, my personal take is, fundamentally, isn't that what a forum is about? To extend help to members when they need it, to embark on juicy and beneficial discussions, to extend your social circle and gain fresh social experiences? Titles are arbitrary and peripheral. What matters is how you choose to go about as a helpful, approachable, dutiful member of the forum, and all this should be internal, personal and subtle. Only then can we really strive towards building a solid, close-knit community like we are now. Yes, the past 5 points from my investigation are really useless(to not beat about the bush haha), and this may seem like something out of a meritocratic ideology that dishes out plates of false consciousness to members. Thing is, other than being more prominent, I do not think that being a good forum member demands certain rewards That's just my personal take though(rhetorical I admit but I'm not trying to make an argument here hehe), hope there are new groups that sprout out over the years =)

oh and whilst we are at it with the administrator and moderators in this forum, why do members' guru profile sometimes disappear?

Ok adding some input and clarifications to add to Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby Jr comments: -Some guides and walkthroughs and records eventually get obsolete for example they might have been written at the very early stage of a game when in depth knowledge and best applied tactics were very limited. - Number of posts from members is ofcourse recognized via avatar but is not normally a major factor in adding people to groups. Usually it's more about what the perceived value of the content posted, this is most specially true of new games. Early on adding and posting new stuff that gamers didn't know about adds a lot of weight to the posters doing it. -New group are usually started by the staff but after that the group leaders/members take them over. The standards of inclusion are different in the two periods. -Idolizing member X, or staff Y: Hopefully this shouldnt work since the groups make the invitations a collective decision. -Badges are on the way out in the next version of ProBoards (forum software), I might do a last round before that happens but basically PB is making them obsolete. -Guru rating module: it's specifically designed as a gaming recognition and therefore only shows up in the gaming boards not the social boards but in any case that piece of code is unfortunately quite buggy and may malfunction or reset. I considered removing that feature from the forum because of that but didn't due to its popularity among the membership. Good news on this is that the code developer promised an update and bug fix on the plugin after the new V6 version of proboards launches.

Wait, proboards is removing badges? Oops I was hoping to save up for some to give to sever members I know.

Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby Jr,you know you can edit your previous post via the [Edit] button right? Easier than making a new post complete with your own quotation Yeah, the badges weren't a huge hit for PB, very few people bought them so the suits decided they weren't going to market them anymore in the Phoenix version (it's currently in alpha). The old badges will still show on avatars though it's just that none will be able to get new ones. EFC might just end up switching to unofficial ones though. We will have to see what's available from other devs. On the Guru rating, yeap sorry about that, sometimes this really displeases some members that get these bugs. I also have gotten mine randomly reset. The developer that wrote that code told me he will update his module (and hopefully fix some of these issues) after the big ProBoards new V6 version release.

By last round do you mean you are going to buy some last badges for members? If so I would really love to recommend some members here that have been very helpful to everyone, especially to those who have made a significant impact in my journey here
