^ if you argue for Leeb to be your main then this logic should apply to Guderian and Graziani (in your case), give Graziani boosts and Guderian crowd tactics + rumor How if I tell you that he is NOT the first artillery.. Leeb is the main damage dealer (I give 3 medals on him), and Konev is my second artillery BUT no 1 support (most useful support ever in the game). Only because Konev has 6 stars doesn't mean he should be the damage dealer, one star is less than one skill slot. Leeb ranks higher than Konev on my artillery hierarchy but lower than Konev overall. Artilleries are support units. An artillery general is measured by how much support he could give to the team rather than individual efforts (as artilleries have lower health and no assault ability as panzers). Panzer is the center of ground battles (especially in this game), others units act as supporting units only. But being a support doesn't mean less important or inferior. Panzers can not achieve their maximum capabilities when left to themselves, with proper artillery, infantry, and air supports only then can panzers be brought into their maximum effects. In the end game, artillery attacks are only 5 damage higher than panzers. So what are their functions? 1) To deal critical damages (as only a few panzer generals can). 2) To inject rumors and paralyze the enemy 3) It can deal a blow without being counterattacked 4) To deal extra damages in plain areas (Leeb) 5) To support surrounding allies with crowd tactics (Konev) 6) To support panzers to achieve assault (help reduce enemy's hp so that panzers can destroy the target and attack or move to another targets immediately). 7) Deals a slightly higher damage than panzers, and area-attacking. That is my ground doctrine (especially artillery). Even if you don't buy my doctrine, isn't it nice to have a mobile artillery unit that gives up to +90 damage per turn (not including counter-attacks yet)? You can't possibly reject a +90 extra damage ability can you? Trust me, and trust my brother😉

I do have that extra damage, but its combined with a flat +200 (300-400 if crit) each turn. Try beating that with Leeb haha

Leeb's accuracy and critical can be combined to produce great damages + plain fighting. While Konev also has accuracy and artillery leader while supporting his surroundings. What could be better huh? They both will make a great team. You can buff some small units too with Konev on artillery or even on infantries. My brother exchanged his Konev's lv5 plain fighting and switched it with crowd tactics (according to my suggestion) and he doesn't regret that. Believe me, my brother was also skeptic before, but he is grateful to me now😉

I have both upgraded but Leeb deals 20-40 damage less I rarely use Leeb cuz Konev is my main (optimal) artillery damage dealer, and Arnold is my even more useful support

I suggest to divide them so that there could be a clear distinction between their roles. In fact, you must separate each generals' role in order to perform effectively in the battlefield. Give Konev crowd medal and the rest for Leeb. Konev acts as an incredible damage buffer while Leeb acts as the heaviest hammer (after all he has plain fighting as his base skill). Don't give more plain fighting to other generals (especially non-artilleries) because you only have 1 plain medal (thus the next one will be less useful).

Well, and my Konev is an extremely offensive support (he also buffs Guderian's damage). With that, he can also support panzers (through crowd tactics) to achieve assaults.

Well if I have plain fighting on Konev this problem is solved, and I will have the general with the most output that my medals should naturally go to (again, I rarely use leeb)

I meant to say that there is a difference between offensive abilities (artillery deal more damage - thus they are attack supports) and offensive auras (like crowd tactics). Konev naturally fits the first. For me, Arnold can never achieve the former, so he is my choice for crowd tactics

Well if I have plain fighting on Konev this problem is solved, and I will have the general with the most output that my medals should naturally go to (again, I rarely use leeb) Nope, Konev is actually only 6 atk ahead of Leeb and 1 mobility below Leeb. Also, did you know that neither accuracy nor arty leader boosts your general's artillery ability? For example, if your arty atk is 80, your general has +30 atk (six star) and accuracy lv5 (+30%), the calculation goes 80 × 130% + 30 = 134. Not (80+30) × 130% = 143. Your general's ability comes later in the calculation (not buffed by 30%). Also, the plain fighting shares the same calculation method. So accuracy only buffs your original unit's attack and not the general's attack buff. So essentialy according to your customization Konev = Leeb +6 attack -1 mobility. So Konev and Leeb is the almost like exact same dude (with Leeb being slightly faster but slightly deals less damage). Thus you just bought two Leebs😁

Leeb can fully substitute his role as Leeb is a slightly faster but very slightly weaker (only 6 damage gap) Btw, I suggest that we discuss this further in "what skill to give on Konev" discussion. We already have that discussion room, don't we?

No matter how you distort the situation, Konev will always be more powerful than Leeb if he gets the right skils
