I agree, but it takes 832 coins to build a tier 3 super heavy. Those 50 extra gold won’t make a difference. Now dowding only has stars in artillery and he is slow as heck. However, I commonly shoved arnold on super tanks even in the last game due to his speed. Now he has rumor too. In my opinion, arnold’s superior movement alone is enough to make him a better candidate for the air force. Not only gold but also tech income.10 tech per turn is big advantage when your income only 5 per turn, it also push your tech level to unlock more facilities in conquest Just depend on our style to consider who is better. The tech is very powerful I must admit. But you could always shove it on arnold, and he also has rumor lvl 4.

Personally I think Dowding is worse that Arnold in every way. Arnold has higher hp, skill level, and stars all for AT MOST 100 more medals. On top of this, anything Dowding can do Arnold can do better. In my experience his level 4 rumour makes him able to 1v1 generals far above his stars might suggest. On top of this, Arnold gets both air force skills while Dowding only gets the one, meaning Dowding will have to pick the second while Arnold can pick whatever he wants, including that economics skill everyone is talking about. It comes down to rumour vs explosives and artillery stars vs movement stars, and for an air force general Arnold is the better pick, hands down.

Also, the economic expert skill only affects gold, industry and tech are both separate skills

I am only going to buy him so that I can boost my economy when I am doing conquest, especially with 1-star countries (such as Dänemark). Since he is going to be a “city-general”, I am thinking between giving him Street Fighting or Architecture. Either increase his damage while defending or making sure that important cities stay uncaptured. Which one is better?

Though EasyTech could have fixed that problem if Dowding was classified as a Tier 3 like the other “Famous Generals”.

Conquest is rather easy if you are persistent. I would give him rumor.

Either increase his damage while defending or making sure that important cities stay uncaptured. Which one is better? Only do that in the very late game. In fact you don’t need him to complete the game. It’s expensive to upgrade economy and tech experts. And he only has one free slot, that goes to tech expert. You are most likely putting dowding on a single light infantry in a city, and definitely not in the frontlines. If he’s getting attacked then it’s a problem because you are risking economy, so there’s no point defending a city with him.

Does explosives work for air? Don’t think so. I'm pretty sure explosives work on aircraft and such. It's most useful when you pair it with strategic bombing for example
