If you upgrade Messe's rumor to Level 5 he basically becomes a “land-Arnold”. I think a better Land Arnold is Heinrici, who has five stars in movement. But yeah, if you want to keep Messe around for end game, he is pretty damn good.

I find that ET likes to dispense a good cheap general among many not so good cheap ones (Ozawa in WC3, Messe in WC4)

Messe is perhaps the first class beginning general of the game. I gave him a 4 mainly due to the fact that you will probably get better generals, but also because he is top notch for beginning players. He has almost never let me down.

Your messe is like my vatutin to me for efficiency i put rumour on vatutin so that albeit the higher cost, he can still fare as well as messe with increased damage

Messe actually has more useful skills than Rokossovsky. Rokossovsky's only useful starting skill is Panzer Leader since Tide of Iron and Shelter aren’t that good. Rokossovsky can be better than Messe at the cost of almost 3000 medals, which when you think about it isn’t really worth it. Give Messe one more tank star, promote his rank and he will be a very useful support tank general. Instead of Rokossovsky, I would use Rommel.

Shelter is very prominent in 1980 too, considering how the AI spams missiles at your generals

And with ToI Vatutin, for example, was able to deal immense damage even with 50 HPs left. My Rokossovsky was a "Blitzkrieger", so ToI was less important in his case, but I definitely would upgrade his ToI as well, if I had a chance. Unfortunately, I completed the game before I could fully upgrade my generals Back to question that farming is a pain in WC4

Unless you can blitzkrieg everyone and do not get targeted, which is unlikely given the strength of titan tanks and mere elite infantry
