Well most will end up getting both, but if you want to have a very small infantry team, thats up to you. Karl is a better tank than massena, and does extremely massive crit damage so he is better. But massena is equally good on the offensive and at attacking cities. The guy deals more than most artillery generals against fortresses. I have Wellesley (can't dump him he is permanent)only want 2 infranty generals anyway. Wellesley can be quite strong. He deals decent output, even without the mountain fighting bonus. He and Karl could be a good enough team.

Yes Wellesley is a powerful infrantry general, anyone who wants to experience what he can do,should load up Britain 1812 conquest,he is pretty much maxed out and has the Ferguson and ambulance and lion medal he will need these though, stranded in Portugal with only an siege cannon, put him and John in the mountains east of Madrid to beat down the French attack he will do fine, with the help of Spain and the Portuguese 😅

Conquest and campaigns might he a bit tricky with only 2 infantry generals, so combine them with your artillery generals as one of your fronts

Massena’s output will usually be higher than even karl on jungles.

Not testing, but what i noticed was the trend during my time in ew6 the majority of the time. Kind of the reason why, when farming the netherlands, I always used Massena instead of Karl in cities. The guy’s crit damage though is insane, more than anybody’s. Karl is definitely a must though, due to his ambush + 4% defense

andreiI have not used Karl yet at all, other than campaign ,challenges. But i have had Massena almost maxed, and he was very good,I decided to sell him off because he can only reach prince and I wanted Nelson(who is expensive)to accompany Sakurako to ward of the Brits mainly, and felt Wellesley could hold his own,he can,as I have excellent cavalry team imo which I base as my main force. In the long run,Karl and Wellesley will be my end game infty team,Anyway,my current line up,,in case anyone is interested.

I think Ney seems to be the equivalent of washington or suvorov on cavarly.

Although Ney and Lan are simular in some aspects, lan can reach emporess and Ney only king, also she has "surprise attack" which makes her hit hard from a distance.

The difference for emperor is 600 medals for only 10 battle ability. Does that make a big difference in your opinion? I agree, surprise is a good skill. Both have 4 good skills to offer. But is surprise better than the crit skill? See if I replay european war 6, I kind of want to put the 20% crit medal on ney and combined with his crit skill, he should be a very punishing cavarly general

I never really developed Ney much since when I got Lan he got dumped, but I suspect he could be an great end run cavalry general indeed, you will never go wrong with him on your team. 😊

You can actually get really far just with a fully upgraded murat with good items. I think he is perhaps one of the best purchases. I have tried netherlands 1798 with absolutely no generals and no tech, it was pretty easy. You will have enough for an additional militia with even more money to bribe countries into joining early. I imagine that doing with clinton and jourdan, who you get really early, would not be too bad.

And why farm the netherlands early? Good question. So that you have enough gold to upgrade your tech level really quickly, and so that you have enough gold to give your boy jourdan falsen and gates really strong items such as ambulances.

She also has edge and along with surprise and plains fighting which makes her one the best cavalry generals you can get😁
