Gone Alexander has the skill crowd tactics (which is really overpowered in ew6) but his damage is not as high as sophia’s (due to his nonexistant artillery ability). So should I get Scharnhost instead of Alexander?

If you have three cavarly generals, you will need dabrowski as one of them (unless you bought blucher) Dabrowski has great stats, his only weakness is that he can’t reach prince or higher. Just need to give him an ambulance and bam. No, the ambulance goes to the one who leads the charge (strongest cavarly general) who might be Ney end game, or Murat mid game. Give dabrowski the prussian helmet and a crappy medkit. His damage will be meh, but he won’t get destroyed by the enemy

So should I get Scharnhost instead of Alexander? Debatable. I’d choose sophia simply cuz alert is good against navy. Plus she has storm fortifications. Scharnhorst is solid as well, but he has 4% less defense due to prince.

Karl is arguably the best Infantry general in the game. He is also a great jungle fighter. 5 stars, must-have General.

Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus, you know that I don't have a particularily high opinion on infantry, but I think we came to the conclusion that infantry is good for two things: defending and guerilla warfare, and sieging. defending cities is probably not worth spending a general slot for, but good sieging ability is actually quite handy to have when speedrunning. So here's what I propose: Take Massena, drop Karl. Why? well, the thing is, Karl is geared to FIGHT. He can fight like no one else on infantry, especially when facing cavalry. The problem is that infantry itself isn't geared to fight, they're geared to siege and defend. And inf vs cav is still usually bad news. I still wouldn't face Blucher or Murat with Karl. On the other hand Massena is geared to siege and since infantry is good at sieging he's fantastic at it. Instead you could probably trade Karl for another cavalry general that's also geared to fight but has a unit type that complements that. I'll admit that I use Karl when I have a free infantry unit and don't need to siege, but I could be using Massena for that too. Hell, I'm also thinking that Bismarck might be better than Massena even. I don't benefit all that much from the aura since I don't spawn a lot of infantry near Massena. Bismarck can also fight better than Massena when he's alone because of PF and he is the best infantry sieger in the game. Unfortunately he's pretty pricey. 5 Stars still for fighting well on infantry.

Unfortunately he's pretty pricey. 5 Stars still for fighting well on infantry. Valid opinions but i am going to have to disagree. I recommend Washington over bismarck at the very least. Formation master + emperor makes washington the prefered alternative to bismarck. You need two infantry generals at least to take advantage of the ferguson and beck rifle. Imo, below two infantry generals is a bad idea overall as there are often many good starting infantry available. Karl and Massena with Army tents will be a strong team if used right and handle an entire front by themselves. It is also important to take into account that you can always spawn infantry from any city. Imo at least two are needed. If you buy massena, karl is simply the next best choice. He will have washington’s assualt and on top of have intercept making him even better. As for the facing karl/murat question, that will be a very rare occassion. I would always use my karl to go after murat whenever possible. That is after all what karl is made up of. After so and so rounds, my momey is on karl winning due to his ambush and formation master. Fighting blucher is another matter entirely. As one of blucher’s strong points is counterattack, the best way to beat him is to make sure that skill is not in use. By spamming line infantry’s to defend cities, even blucher is not a very strong opponent as seen by quickly him and wellesley die in 1815. Feel free to play however you like. However, buying infantry for sieging is a waste of medals imo. You want somebody good at sieging? Get yourself an artillery general. The best way to use infantry is in defending cities and as well surrounding and attacking other units. Lastly, I personally found the light cavarly to be a bad unit due to its lack of hp. Line infantry overall are better units imo. The cheapest good spammable cavarly unit are the lancers, which cost 1.5 times as much as line infantry

I don't know if that actually matters, being able to use a beck rifle and a ferguson rifle. It's like saying that 2 navy is recommended so that you can use the telescope and the compass. (good for crimean war atleast) 3. I doubt that Karl can win that fight, maybe if Karl is on line inf while Murat is on light cav. My Karl has lv 4 intercept, emperor, maxed aura and forest, and he can't kill lancers or tougher units consistently at all. Against an equal Murat I don't imagine that to go well. 4. Thats kinda what I meant by that infantry is good at defending and guerilla warfare. I never use a general for that purpose tho since it doesn't do much other than save me a little money. 5. Light cav have absolutely amazing movement and fairly solid defense (42 vs 24) on top of better atk (60 vs 52) compared to line inf. That movement in particular is super important, I don't think I could do that 18 turn 1798 Prussia LTC conquest without it. It's also critically 35 gold cheaper to the lancer, and that 35 gold can add up if you're spamming. (10 lancers is 350 gold more expensive than 10 light cav) Sidenote, it's amazing how well the units are balanced in this game, there's actually significant difference in peoples playstyles. I kinda hated how stupidly OP tanks we're in WC4 vs the other unit types (insane HP, damage, defense, 2 range and the ability to attack like 10 times in a turn? wtf ET).

Pretty fair points I have to say. But keep in mind that assualt infantry exists which is the best infantry unit in the game. Maybe you were using grenadiers to go up against high tier cavarly units. But fair enough i guess. If you don’t like infantry, thats perfectly fine. I agree the units in this game are pretty well balanced.

You don’t get to use those very often either but they are still very powerful when given.
