Nelson's not needed for the main campaign series, or admirals for the most part. I didn't go for John for arty, but Alexander I because of his aura. Got Alex, and it's pretty fun to see large swaths of units getting rekt by rocket arty with Alex, especially on Waterloo Should be good for a while, any ideas what happens next? By now, I think I had Murat, Massena, Karl, Mahmud, Alexander, and Dabrowski. These 6 should be enough to clear Campaign and everything else except for Crimean War Challenge.

I may have spent quite a good chunk of medals on upgrading them... though I should be good to clear the British Empire right?

P.S. : totally forgot navy- nelson is enough; get treville if u need more fire power

is upgrading crit skills in this game worth it? No. Crit is 135% damage in EW6 and crit skill only gives 10% chance.

I have maxxed all eight generals I have (2 of each unit, all aura). Maybe I will consider maxxing crit if I get Barclay, John, Lan and Hood.

To beat Crimea you need 4 infantry and 4-5 artillery, but only 2-3 cavalry and 1-2 navy.

For 4th infantry I've heard good words for Suvorov and Robert. You don't need both Davout and Lan, maybe even neither. If you're thinking about Davout, I recommend taking a look at Paget as well. Get John and Barclay first. Get your hands on Crimea to form your own understanding. Ask yourself do you prefer PF or TM to decide between Suvorov/Robert and Scharnhorst/Maria. And then see if you need more generals.

Also, since the update will land soon, you should probably hold on to your medals.

Luigi Sansonetti, there is also the option of using 10 generals and some 30 medipacks for perfect clearing Crimean War. Though these resources are lost, buying generals and never using them again or selling them back also creates loss. Waiting for the next update is even better, since ET is already in the preview phase, it won't take long.

Now you mentioned that, you should hold off on tech upgrades until challenge conquests (not in the upcoming update but will land eventually) are out, in case they make it 1914-like.
