Heck, I might get Boroevic just so that I can have someone ideal for HMGs. Just swap Battle Array and Formation Master for Assault and Ambush. Boroevic is definetly THE HMG general. Thankfully, because I feel that those are the only good generic Infantry units.

Mine would be alert and intercept swapped for pierce and tactics master. That allows for some powerful attacks. But using Tactics Master on Infantry without Ambush to protect your general is dangerous.

And they’re not much frailer than HMGs either (-40 HP). Now granted, they’re still, y’know, infantry, so they can’t hold a candle to an armored car, but they’re one of the more useful infantry units there is.

But what about in the pre-WW1 era?

They’re better then cav on damage, hp and price What do you mean? HMG have more HP, equal damage and a lower price then armoured cars, however their defence is far worse

They’re better then cav on damage, hp and price What do you mean? Just because we don’t have Lancers anymore doesn’t mean that Infantry is better than Cavalry. Cavalry/Tank-type units have always dominated the unit types in ET games, and EW6:1914 is no exception. Hunting Cavalry, for example, are a good unit that are slightly more expensive than New Infantry, yet miles better. Breastplate Cavalry has high defense and strong attack. Armored Cars are the top land units in the game, having very high defense and a very strong attack. They are so strong to the point you can think of them as mini-generals. And when you put a general on them, they devastate everything. It doesn’t need to be someone epic like Ludendorff, even a general like Samsonov wreaks havoc on Armored Cars.

The only reason you are ever going to spawn them is to hold cities. You can put a general in Heavy Machine Gunners, they are quite strong when commanding that unit. But then again, the optimal general for that role is Boroevic, and you should always use Old Guards, Guard Grenadiers and Air Gun Soldiers whenever possible.

HMG have more HP, equal damage and a lower price then armoured cars, however their defence is far worse And armored cars can attack multiple times and are much tougher overall due to its incredible 69 base defense and «armor» armor type. They have WAY more bang for their buck.

They have WAY more bang for their buck. I second that. Infantry doesn’t hold a candle to them without generals. And the Infantry generals get squashed by the Cavalry generals.

I’d also add that Light Cavalry completely ANNIHILATES most infantry units. As cold weapon is 145% against no armor. I can easily have them hit for 80 or so damage against a lot of infantry. Their only weakness is their durability. Which is partly made up for their cheap cost.

It’s almost as high as the HP of Armored Cars.

Inf is good, not as general units because they’re weak but as normal units because they give very much damage, hp and mobility for little gold
