So, I believe, the rank of difficulty as the game evaluates it, is fairly close to reality. i find shimabara consistently harder than namioka, as an exception.

Okay, so it’s pretty beatable. I did it. Definetly the toughest levels so far, but the game is easy so far, so that’s not saying much.

They should really put forge materials as expedition sweep rewards. So far there is only library sweep which is limited by the choice of general.

How much do we get in a week from conquering the Shimazu's domains?
If the amount earned in a week is less than how much a player can earn from fighting in Kimotsuki, even if the player cannot clear the full expedition, it's worth it to build Kimotsuki.
The idea is that if we earn more from completing expeditions in a week compared to building and conquering clans, building and taking part in expeditions may be worth it.

The idea is that if we earn more from completing expeditions in a week compared to building and conquering clans, building and taking part in expeditions may be worth it. If we look at things under this angle it is definitely profitable to unlock Expeditions. It is one of the best sources of gold and materials. But the question is whether we should unlock Kimotsuki immediately or wait for a week or two. I think that waiting a bit won't hinder our progress in the slightest. I doesn't really matter when a player gets an access to Kimotsuki: today, tomorrow or next week. One-two weeks won't neither enrich nor ruin players. And in Kimotsuki (if a player wants to complete it) you will use rations. So, I personally would prefer to unlock Mounts Aso and Osoro first, unlocking additional bonuses to reduce the number of needed rations.

You totally should unlock Kimotsuki as fast as you can. And you totally don’t need rations. Being able to beat that consistently is the cutoff point for getting the maximum amount of repeatable resources. One week or two isn’t that much, but you shouldn’t delay it.
The single most important thing to have are extremely heavily upgraded healing items. Equip your strongest guys with those and let them do most of the work while your other guys provide ranged support. Then leave a weak unit alive and wait out some turns to heal. That trivializes most of the non-boss fights.
You only really have to deal with one of those mini-boss fights. And that gets bloody, but if you survive that you basically win because on the actual boss fight you get 4 free super generals to help you out.

This time I have chosen the route with maximum number of hard stages and rewards are even worse than previous time The upper route is undeniably better so far (if, again, rewards are not rng as well), and the single hard stage that way is significantly easier than some hard stages of the middle route because of their geography. We have to check the bottom route now and compare rewards.

Even when I encountered them, I actively played only final battles, auto combat was good enough for other stages. Just make sure your units are upgraded. Cost of access to expeditions is prohibitive, I still have to gather 1.2 million coins to open Namioka, Shimabara and Kimotsuki.

And I am certain that events are random and can be changed with reload. Thats how I passed Kimo last week.

Fixed battles (helmets) seem to have fixed rewards unless rng was messing with me.

I know I had different rewards but I couldnt remember if they were fixed battles but your conclusion seems legit. I was focusing on events so that might be the case indeed.

Taking over the last Shimazu stronghold yields 550 copper per day, or 3,850 copper in a week. With Kimotsuki, clearing at least the starting fight or 2 fights would already allow us to break even. Expedition earnings > passive income, which means building and challenging them is worth more than completely conquering clans.

Any expedition sweep gives hairpin? Just built Nagoya and have only enough coin to build one more. Namioka. It gives the most (4.5k copper) copper per sweep except Kimotsuki.
