I believe that completing the game with France's best generals is possible: Massena, Lannes and Moreau for Infantry (Moreau is arguably better than Suchet. He’s Garibaldi without Tunnel. While it does make him not that good of a sieger, Moreau has nevertheless 3 good skills and can reach Prince. Meanwhile Suchet has Battle Array and Cover instead, which are both pretty bad skills. Even if Cover is decent, I believe that Tactics Master is better. Not to mention that Suchet costs a considerable amount of medals more than Moreau) Murat, Davout and Ney for Cavalry (All 3 are great cavalry generals, being among the best in the game.) Napoleon, Napoleon III and Macmahon for Artillery (Napoleon III and Macmahon are sadly not among the best Artillery generals. They aren’t bad at all, though.) Treville and Villeneuve for Navy (Villeneuve is meh, but thankfully Treville saves the day by being better than every other navy general there is except Nelson and Sakurako.) Moreau is better than Suchet? Debatable. Neither of them are particularily great at sieging, but Suchet probably contributes more in a fight since he’s got higher consistent damage and much better survivability (which also in a way translates into damage). I imagined you would mention his survivability. But I got afraid that you would actually criticize it. So I mentioned Moreau instead.

Of course, that’s because he is the next best option that I could think of.

Phase 2. I’d be careful with those two. Especially hundred days war. It is the second hardest thing in the game, the first being crimean war. I’d personally go through, complete everything, than do those two. Also pay attention to your medals. Once you run out, you will have to sell some of your fully upgraded generals to get more non fully upgraded generals. Which is a huge pain Support Spain is Phase 3 cause it’s really difficult without a lot of generals. The rest alongside Escape Elba is Phase 2.

Isn’t anybody going to talk about those really overpowered Crimean War generals?
Infantry: Muravyov: Alert and Mountain Fighting are meh, but he has a very high combined ability by default to the point where his meh skills don’t make a difference. He is also equipped with very strong items (Example: A Beck Rifle and a Ferguson Rifle TOGETHER), making him even more deadlier. His Formation Master helps him with causing unreal critical damage. As if all of that wasn’t enough, he is also an Aura general, making the already strong Crimean War units even more stronger, and also boosting himself. Even if he didn’t have Aura, his very high damage would still make him a big threat. Friendly reminder that his skills are usually Level 5 and he can even equip the Purple Heart Medal. Tough to defeat.
Paskevich: Like Muravyov, has two meh skills (Namely Defense Formation and Mountain Fighting), but the real danger is how high his default combined battle ability is, overshadowing his meh skills. Ambush makes him annoying to defeat due to the chance of one of your attacks being nullified, and that happening while facing such a strong general would pretty much mean death to your general if he’s attacking Paskevich. Counterattack makes him hit even harder if you try to attack him, to the point where it’s suicide if your general‘s HP is low enough. Like Muravyov, he is usually equipped with a Beck Rifle and a Ferguson Rifle, making him hit even harder. And also like Muravyov, Paskevich is an Aura general, boosting his own damage and the units nearby, increasing his deadliness by a lot. His skills are always (or almost always) at Level 5 and he can equip the Purple Heart Medal to boost his Aura skill. A very dangerous general.
Alexander II: Unlike the other two, all of his skills are splendid, making him super dangerous. Assault boost his damage, Cover makes him more difficult to defeat, Intercept makes him strong against cavalry, Ambush helps with his survival and Plain Fighting gives a huge bonus to his overall damage. While lacking Aura, he still has very high combined ability and can shred your troops (and generals) if you aren’t equipped. Comes with strong items which make him even deadlier. Like all Crimean War generals, he pretty much always appears with his skills at Level 5, and can equip medals. This Russian emperor can give any Infantry general a run for his money.
Cavalry:
Menshikov: The only bad skill that he has is Maneuver, making him lack Precision Strike. Still, his damage is high enough to shrug it off, with all of his other 4 skills being splendid. Edge makes him very powerful against Infantry, Tactics Master allows him to occasionally devastate twice as much, Surprise Attack boosts his damage (And can make him dangerous if he’s far away and travels directly to your troops) and Plain Fighting gives a huge bonus to his overall damage. And then there are the strong items which buff him even more, not to forget the medals. Tough to defeat.
Andronikashvili: Lacks Precision Strike, but again, has high damage to not make it a problem and 4 amazing skills: Cavalry Commander, Riding Master, Edge and Tactics Master. Edge makes him strong against Infantry, Riding Master allows him to deal very high critical damage, Tactics Master allows him to attack again and Cavalry Commander boosts himself and other units. Comes equipped with strong items, aside from the medal. Tough to defeat.
Nicholas I: The strongest non-purchasable cavalry general in the game. He has a high combined ability and 5 splendid skills: Precision Strike, Riding Master, Surprise Attack, Cavalry Commander and Tactics Master. I’ve already told you how dangerous each one of those skills are, with Precision Strike guaranteeing his superiority over Menshikov and Andronikashvili. The items and the medals make him even more nightmarish. A very tough general to defeat.
Artillery Gorchakov: He pretty much only has Salvo and Storm Fortifications, but those skills make him strong against any type of unit. Has a high battle ability, and remember that the stats of the units he commands are high, making him deadly. Don’t forget about the items and medals. Navy: Istomin: The weakest admiral out of all Crimean War admirals, but yet he is still a force to be reckoned with. Has good skills (Line of Battle for damage, Position for critting, Helmsman for occasionally reducing damage and Counterattack to make him hit harder when attacked) and stats for an admiral, and he always has high defense. A Prussian Helmet would only make it worse. Tough to sink.
Zavoyko: Slightly better combined ability, but has Inspiration (An occasional morale boost, doesn’t make a big difference) instead of Counterattack. Still a force to be reckoned with due to the high stats of the ships he commands, and the items he usually has.
Nakhimov: He’s pretty much Zavoyko with Alert, which does make him harder to sink, but doesn’t put him in a whole new level of strength. But remember: If he’s stronger than Istomin and Zavoyko, then he’s definitely someone that you should watch out for.
Kornilov: A ridiculously hard general to defeat. He is pretty much Sakurako without Counterattack, but also with considerably higher damage. This means that he has both Escorting and Alert, giving him insane damage reduction. The fact that he also hits hard makes him a very tough general to defeat.
Putyatin: Kornilov with slightly higher damage, but this still means that this guy is insanely hard to defeat due to how he has both Escorting and Alert which reduces his damage by a huge amount, along with his high damage. Don’t let the blue nameplate fool you into thinking that this guy is weak. Him and Kornilov are comparable to Nelson in terms of strength.
While I did mention that those generals are overpowered (People have trouble with even the weakest of them), some are definitely stronger than others. So don’t think that all of them are godlike.

Not really a point to discussing Crimean War people. Aside from knowing who’s the biggest threat, but everyone of them are extremely dangerous due to their gear and stats.
You missed Totleben who’s like Ney with station. Weakest CW cav, but 687 HP + 102 def is scary as usual.

One of the reasons being that you get two types of armies: The pre-WW1 one and the WW1 one, which is something that I really like. Reminds me of the WC4 HOI4 mod where you have the pre-modern units and the modern units.

I have a question. I have around 2300 medals, Massena, Greene, Mahmud, the four free generals. Who should i get next. I am stuck on battle of Greece In the ottoman campaign and Spanish war first level. Should I get Lan, Sophia, or Murat? Or someone else?

Yeah, his skills are good for cavalry except maneuver. I'd upgrade Murat a bit then get Dabrowski
