This idea was copied from what Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus did with Ew6 general.
Pink = Very Good
Turquoise (light blue) = Great (Very good but very expensive to boot/ there are superior options)
Green = Good (there are better ones but passable. Can buy for entertainment purposes)
Yellow = have some good qualities, but not worth purchasing
Orange = Generally bad generals
Red = very bad, the worst of the worst generals given.
IAP Advice: If u don't care bout money at all, buy Manstein and Zhukov if u like. But if ur wondering if u should buy them, don't buy them since this is a F2P game. However if ur desperate in endgame and would like to spend some money, buying medals would be a cheaper and safer choice.
Manstein: He’s extremely fast, does insane damage, and has marshal rank but the lack of rumor really hurts him. He'll do fantastic in the beginning but in endgame, he won't be the best. So, if u get Manstein, use him as third tanker ONCE you get Guderian and Rommel and upgrade them.
Zhukov: He’s a strong guy but instead of rumor, he has crossfire which is terrible for artillery. Konev and Leeb are easily better than him. But he can be a good hybrid with his marshal rank.
Eisenhower: This guy is worse than Kuznetsov when both are maxed because of the lack of rumor, once again. But like Zhukov, he can be a nice hybrid.
Gold tier
Graziani: Very underrated imo. Machinist is very good and guarantees his survivability and ace forces help him to level up quickly. With armored assault and rumor, he’ll undeniably be a beast in tanks. He’s the third-best tank general along with Rokossovsky.
Yamashita: You shouldn’t get an infantry general at all but he’s the best infantry general in the game. He’ll cost a lot of medals but will be very powerful.
Patton: Looks cool but his skills are trash. Not recommended at all.
Montgomery: He may be very terrible at the start but with upgrades and armored assault & rumor, he will be very powerful. Probably the 5th best when maxed but that’ll cost A LOT of medals.
Yamamoto: He’s probably the best air gen in terms of usability but he costs ways too much and all his skills are at level one . You can add fleet leader & rumor and turn him into an air/navy hybrid. Due to his explosives, he’ll be the 3rd best naval general.
Guderian: The best general in the game, period. Give him rumor and explosives/machinist and he’ll be a nightmare for your enemies. Save up for this guy from the start.
MacArthur: He may be terrible at the start but through upgrades, he’ll be a fast and powerful infantry general and a good hybrid if rumor is added. The problem is, he’s the most expensive infantry general you can buy (not counting Zhukov).
Rokossovsky: The third best tank general that’s on a par with Graziani. Add a. assault and rumor / blitzkrieg. Amazing.
Donitz: The best naval general in the game. His wolfpack is amazing, especially in subs. His only flaw is his expensive price so get him after Nimitz.
Rundstedt: The third best infantry general and an amazing hybrid if the right skills are given. Plus he’s very cheap. But, his trash skill set hurts him a lot.
Konev: The best artillery general in the game and after the discount, he’ll be very cheap. Give him rumor and plain fighting/crowd tactics. Konev can also substitute as an infantry general in invasions.
Rommel: Even though his discount missions are hard, it’s very worth it to complete cuz you’ll get the second best tank general for a cheap price. He’s awesome.
Nimitz: “The Rommel of the Sea.” This should be the first naval general you get cuz he’s cheap after discount. Give him explosives & rumor and he’ll be the best cruiser general ever.
Silver Tier
Leeb: Second best artillery general and very cheap also. Get him after Messe and he’ll accompany you till the end. Don’t forget to add accuracy to him.
Chuikov: A terrible hybrid and a Graziani knockoff. It’ll be a waste of time to upgrade his stars so don’t bother buying him. Also without armored assault or accuracy, he’ll do low damage.
Halsey: I mean he isn’t terrible. He has carpet-bombing but there are better naval generals to get that cost just a little more than Halsey and will do more than him.
Vatutin: Vatutin will be hitting hard like Manstein but he doesn’t have any defensive skills so he’ll die really fast. Therefore he’ll be a nice general to have in the beginning but as you get closer to UN missions, he’ll be unreliable. But, he’s the cheapest general with 6 panzer stars.
Sun L.R.: “The Rommel of the East.” He’s cheap and with armored assault & medals, he’ll perform fantastically in jungles & plains and be an amazing hybrid.
Alexander: What? Raider with 2 infantry stars? Idek why he’s so terrible while costing 1700 medals. He’s a terrible hybrid therefore so don’t get him.
Leclerc: A 5-star tanker with street fighting, panzer leader, and ARTILLERY BARRAGE? Why does a tanker need to have the worst artillery skill? He could be a nice city defender but there are better generals suited for that.
Govorov: He’s strong in jungles but you’ll have to sacrifice either rumor or accuracy. And he also costs 2100 medals while being a CAPTAIN. Not bad but not good either.
Nagumo: He’ll actually be a very strong naval general when rumor is given to him. Can be your secondary navy gen if u can’t afford Donitz.
Timoshenko: He’s the extremely faster version of Messe so upgrading Messe will be more cost-efficient. But he’s still a nice support general.
Model: The German Leclerc. He’s fast and cost decent. But, he’s weak and will be inferior to Messe but both are maxed.
Mountbatten: He’s little worse than Nagumo cuz he’s missing the 6th navy star and air stars but nevertheless, he’s a beast.
Smigly: Heinrici 2.0 but way worse.
Kesselring: I can’t find any use for him and he costs 2125 MEDALS. The worst deal in the game.
Zhang Z.Z.: He’s the 4th best arty general and he actually performs pretty well. But like others, you have to sacrifice either accuracy or rumor which hurts him a lot.
Vasilevsky: When he’s given raider, he’ll be amazing, but he costs way too much for what he has to offer. He is the 5th best infantry general.
Peng D.H.: An interesting infantry gen. He’s a little better than Heinrici but he costs way too much.
Mannerheim: Second best infantry general that’ll do insane damage against enemy troops especially when in forests. He also has the best quality when starting out compared to other infantry generals.
Bradley: He overpriced and looks horrible but he’s the only arty general after Leeb that can have both accuracy and rumor (2 required skill for arty). I wouldn’t recommend him at all tho.
Arnold: Arnold is the best air and support general in the game. He’s cheap and has LEVEL 4 RUMOR STARTING OUT. Add crowd tactics and he’ll be amazing at boosting the team and giving airstrikes.
Dowding: Sadly Dowding doesn’t have carpet-bombing but you can turn him into an economy general by adding technology expert and giving him medals. Very useful for conquests.
Bronze Tier
Tito: He may be the cheapest general in the game but he’s absolutely horrible.
Terauchi: He has machinist and accuracy which are pretty good. He’s decent I guess.
Kuribayashi: He has 5 stars in infantry but he doesn’t have any useful skills while costing 875 medals. Don’t get him.
Crerar: Could be a good starting general but still horrible.
Bagramyan: Uh. Elastic defense and crossfire? Even Leeb is better than him in tanks.
Messe: The best starting general in the game. He has rumor and armored assault which are the 2 necessary skills for tanks. Keep him in the HQ and he’ll be a great supporting general later on with rumor and crowd tactics.
Badoglio: He a little bit better than Blamey but he’s ok.
Auchinleck: What? He costs 825 medals but only has 3 tank stars without armored assault. Oof. Good at blasting cities IN DESERT but trash otherwise.
Kuznetsov: He looks trash but he isn’t. He has rumor AND fleet leader which are necessary for navy. Upgrade his rumor and he’ll be a beast. Plus he’s the cheapest naval general.
Blamey: Like Heinrici, he’s fast but has very low output.
Heinrici: Lol. This is the first general I bought cuz I didn’t know anything bout the game. He may be fast but he’s overpriced and has low output.
Bock: Guderian lite but not worth it at all. He has very solid skills but there are better options
Fletchers: Looks better than Kuznetsov right? Nope. he’s the worst pure naval general.
Nasser: If u upgrade his infantry stars and give him medals, he’ll be actually pretty good. But, it’s better to get Rundstedt than to waste time on infantry gen that costs 735 medals.
Slim: He’s the terrain master lol. But don’t bother spending 855 medals on a trash infantry general.
Tassigny: Um. Heinrici 3.0? Very bad.
De Gaulle: He has rumor which is good but his other skills are trash and Leeb is better to get for the same price.
Zhu. D.: Just no. He’s worse than Konev and is pretty expensive.
