I have him now. His damage isn’t bad at all because of his beastly stats and because he’s got Salvo + Storm forts. He also gives my Ludendorff ~80 def lol. They’re taking ~20 damage from most things.

Is his flat Def aura is good for keeping troops and gens alive? Imo yes. I don't have him yet, but based on +8 def at lvl 1, a simple interpolation would give +40 def at lvl 5. Is that a lot? If we assume that the damage calculation is still the same as in EW6 1804 (which I do not think it will be much different) and base def of the unit affected by the aura is 20, the increasing of def by 40 (from 20 to 60) would add 33% to the unit's survivability. Imo, that is a lot. Even if the aura only gives +20 def (from 20 to 40), that is still equal to +16.7% additional survivability. imo, yes. At least on a paper.

So minimum +16 at lv 5. And if we’re thinking percentages then Defense Formation is a lot stronger for infantry than cavalry. (Highest def inf at my tech level is New infantry at 26 def while highest def cav is armored car at 52 def)

In fact all aura skills don't work properly for some reasons...

So, for example McClellan's aura lvl 4 gives 10 attack points to my cavalry units instead of 15...

I actually plan to buy him when I have enough medal. Then I guess I need to wait to hear the feedback from those who actually have him.

Storm fortifs and salvo helps him, and his mixed attack/defense plus emperor seems good. Hope it helps.

So, for example McClellan's aura lvl 4 gives 10 attack points to my cavalry units instead of 15... After a bit of testing, aura seems to add attack in percentage, instead of a flat number like the description says. With my McClellen lvl3 aura (+10 cavalry attack), Light Cavalry attack goes from 40 to 44 Hunting Cavalry from 61 to 67 Breastplate Cavalry from 66 to 72 Armored Car from 70 to 77 Maybe Hindenburg's aura gives bonus def in percentage too?

He can be alright on defence missions (which there are many) especially when you research ballistics(range 3). Place him on a howitzer and on Top of a key point. Surround him with other generals and watch that key point never get taken down if u add the princess Nikolayevna (decrease damage taken by 10% in surrounding 3 tiles) on a palace in that city too.
