He is great but in my opinion not one of the first ones to buy. If you want navy Nimitz can also do the job for 1100 medals less and if you want him for air than Dowding can do the job for 1400 less. So value and practical use he isn't that great of an asset.

He needs a lot of medals to become great. He also has a high price, anyone who dont get iaps, cant get him i think. Guderian comes with level 2 or 3 with skills ( armored assault, blitzkrieg, panzer leader) but he has none, all of his skills level 1, also has none of the naval skills. I dont recommend him, nimitz have much more value on naval with less medals. ( also fleet leader level 2, ace forces level 3)

Skills and stars suggest using him on carriers... however they are no that great and it would probably pay only in conquests. Coupled with the huge price, it is not reccomended at all, considering we have Nimitz and Donitz for navy and Downding and Arnold for air.

I have him and to me it was one of the best purchases I did. He is very useful on a carrier or in a sub, you just need to give him fleet leader/depot ship and rumor/wolfpack. But the best is that he definitely packs a punch in land campaigns when he is commanding a triple-stacked howitzer. And when he is low on health (like 90-100) just retreat him to an airport and give air support.

 Ikr Would 25/75 buy him over Guderian, looks strong IMO. Great hybrid, useful as an air general and proves effective in the sea. What intrigues me is his effectiveness as an artillery general, considering his great marching ability and mediocre artillery skill. Though I won't be seeing him in my end game roster anytime soon, I've got lots more to look forward to before this guy. Stronk since WC3! Never ceases to fail his image.

Be(a)st navy/air gen and can be used on land as well, he is one of the few multipurpose generals to have along with konev, if you can afford him get him, he will be more useful than quite a lot generals combined... I'd say he is must have for endgame, combined with fast generals on land/water will be a deadly tactical advantage over enemies, does this say enough about him?

Looking at all the statements made about Yamamoto, can I conclude the following:
- His high movement comes in very handy
- He is one of, if not the BEST navy-land hybrid. Specifically arty in Yamamoto's case.
- His is not entirely limited by his skills which are geared towards aerial warfare.
- He can still perform well in naval combat despite his aerial warfare skills.
- His price is his biggest weakness when comparing him to other gens, specifically Nimitz & Dowding.

A decent general, but ridiculously expensive. I recommend using Nimitz or Kuznetsov, as they are both cheap, well compared to this guy. Yamamoto offers nothing special which the two previous generals can’t do. And so does donitz

HE IS THE WORST NAVAL GENERAL He is a literal better Dowding though. I wouldn’t say he is the worst naval general in the game. I’d say he is in the top three: 1st donitz, 2nd nimitz, 3rd yamamoto. What makes him bad is that he is bizarly expensive. Really for a good naval general, all you need is a high level of rumor and fleet leader, which you will have to add to him. He isn’t bad, he is just way to expensive for what he offers. |
