Actually, he can be pretty powerful as plain warfare and urban warfare stack. Just get a medal to buff it, as it buffs both plain warfare and urban warfare, and he will be a fantastic defense general on any unit. However, I do recommend getting leclerc or montgomery, and pimping em out this way. It is a really powerful build, trust me.

Compared to passive skills (Accuracy or the skills that ALWAYS boosts unit dmg), terrain is weaker. His natural focus on inf makes him slightly disadvantaged because inf is not that good in this game. For about 300 medals less, you get Messe who is tank-oriented, has 1 passive tank skill, 1 good active skill (Rumour) & 1 debatable skill (Crowd Tactucs). There is simply less need for a transition gen like Slim than a must/should have gen like Messe.

Also, if you want a general who can stack both plain and urban fighting, I suggest go for montgomery, as he can have a potential combo of crossfire + urban warfare + plain warfare + rumor, making him and outstanding defense general, or leclerc who can have panzer leader or artillery barrage + urban + plain warfare, making him an also rather powerful defense general. If you give this guy a medal buff, and shove him on a panzer or even artillery unit, he will still have nice damage. But yeah I agree, he isn’t worth buying due to his high cost.

But mountain warfare sucks, and his stars for artillery and tank are weak. But plain + urban warfare stacked should make up for it. At least he is fast.

A good way to think about slim is that he has lvl 4 urban fighting without a medal buff, and lvl 6 with a medal buff, one top of having level 1 plain warfare. So thats + 30 damage with a medal buff, equivalent to have 5 stars in tanks. With lvl 3 plain and urban fighting, thats lvl 6 urban warfare without a medal, and lvl 9 urban warfare with a medal.

I would upgrade plain fighting instead. When in cities, both the plain warfare and the urban warfare bonus occur. You he gets + 5 from the plain fighting and + 15 from his urban fighting. If you have a medal, you will increase that damage to + 7 plain fighting + 22 urban fighting, or + 29 damage overall, which would be equivalent to lvl 6 urban warfare, which is not possible to reach. I agree plain fighting is better. If you upgrade his plain fighting and use him in a city, his damage will only be higher.
