Except for movement, navy & arty, Messe surpasses Auchinleck at a lower cost.
At lvl 1 armoured assault deals more dmg than Panzer leader.
Messe's crowd tactics can also be applied more often than Auchinleck's desert warfare.
However, the lvl 3 explosives is the best quality of Auchinleck.

I like this guy. He was an effective early game general for me in WC3 and he is again in WC4

Can be good on Africa if you max out his skills, Tank stars and movement. I’d say he is Rommel lite. Plus, he is quite cheap, consting only 825 medals.

Auchinleck was nerfed a wee bit from his WC3 persona, but is generally the same quality.

He's okay at best. 3 stars on Armor compared to Messe's 4, 8% chance to hit harder than usual, and lack of Armored Assault as well as Rumor makes him a bit less reliable than Messe. But I agree with Gone, he's a Rommel lite. |
